My decorating style is very eclectic. I love items that have a story, ones that are typically old and handcrafted. I have a particular love for early pieces that I admire because of their simple utilitarian purpose. I truly enjoy finding pieces that are in extra need of some TLC, and freshen things up with a new coat of paint. However, after the new coat of paint, or several layers of paint-I like

to then sand them sand back, or rather distress pieces to have a shabby chic finish. I prefer pieces to look old, even if they aren't, and to celebrate the age or worn parts of a piece. I find things much more visibly interesting when they look imperfect! Kind of more true to have life really is!
