There are over 60 different types of lymphoma. These types fall into one of 5 generic categories. Hodgkin, non-Hodgkin T/NK cell (referring to the fact the lymphoma cells originate in types of lymphocytes called T cells or natural killer cells), non-Hodgkin B cell, grey zone (where the lymphoma has characteristics of both Hodgkin and non-Hodgkin), and lymphomas not otherwise specified (where the lymphoma is hard to categorize into any existing known type).
As you can see by this chart, most people are diagnosed with a type that falls into the non-Hodgkin lymphoma B cell category.
It's important to know your specific type of lymphoma as that information dictates the treatment you will receive.
