Another set of before and after photos from this beautiful kitchen renovation. πŸ™€
The cabinets were so easy, with the biggest impact. They needed a quick sand, then two coats of primer before three coats of paint.
I scored an awesome deal on the new sink faucet which I totally love!
Those beautiful textured tiles with the dark grout, and stunning concrete counters are my favourite updates in this quick and easy kitchen remodel.
All in all, the whole remodel cost around $800 in materials and I had it complete in just two weeks!

Oh what this beautiful kitchen used to look like, before I had my way with it 😏 .....
I painted the old cabinets white and added handles to all cabinets and drawers ( no idea why they didn't have any before 🀨 ). I think this was the biggest change, making the space feel larger and certainly brighter.
The backsplash was the most rewarding part of the project - removing the ugly tiles and modernizing the kitchen with new subway tiles ( that have the coolest rustic texture! ) and contrasting grey grout lines.
The funnest part of this kitchen remodel? The concrete counters of course! Whoa, what a transformation, from the ugly laminate to that stunning concrete 😍
I had to partition off the kitchen from the rest of the house, basically starving myself and the kids for dayyyyys until it was complete πŸ€ͺ ( kidding... not kidding... )
The counter project basically consisted of a million layers of thinset concrete, and million hours of sanding. Dripping wet in a hazmat suit ( because of course it was summer ) and hoping the girls weren't killing themselves/each other πŸ₯΄
The only problems I've run into since is with the sealant I chose. To solve the issue I will have to sand down the counters again and then reseal. Lessons learned!
All in all it was a very successful project, one I would do again in a heart beat.

OMG what this gorgeous fireplace used to look like πŸ™€ That red absolutely HAD to go.
This was a super fun project, one that I would do again and again.
The prep work was easy: clean the brick, cover the floor and stone, remove the mantle.
I had some white paint left over from my cabinet-remodel, so I watered it down with water, then simply painted that on the brick. I did a few bricks at a time, then gently rubbed the paint in further with a rag to get that distressed look. 😍
