Hi everyone! It’s been a loooong winter and Layla is hoping that the snow on the garlic patch melts this week with the warm weather! She’s itching to get out there to remove the straw and inspect the garlic! Stay tuned!

Hi everyone, it took a little while but as promised here is an update on how the garlic salt has turned out. Happy to report that after a couple of different ratio tries, we believe this one is the best! This has been made with just coarse sea salt and garlic from our garlic patch. We wound up with a bit more leftover than expected in a fine grind (powdered like) and a coarser grind. Limited amounts in 2 ounce containers are available $5 each. If you are interested message us! Layla has instructed no more is to be made and once they are gone they are gone!

Hi everyone! Peeled up some garlic for supper menu and thought a pic should be shared. This is Red Russian from one of our monster heads that was grown this year. This is stock that wasn’t sold to our customers this year (most was replanted this year), but some of our customers may have gotten cloves this size!
Layla has also instructed us that we are to now start using up all the smaller heads which were too small to sell or replant and ones that got a bit damaged during harvest - - and turn them into garlic salt. Stay tuned and we will let you know how it turns out!

Hi everyone!
Did you know?….

Garlic takes at least 3-4 weeks (given good weather conditions) to cure properly for it to have good storage life. Garlic should be hung in a dry space with good air flow out of direct sunlight. If the weather is humid, a fan to help with air flow is a great plan.
There are many ways people choose to cure their garlic harvest. Over the years we have tested a few different ways: #1.hanging entire plant in bundles with heads facing down, #2.clipping stems half way down and hanging in bundles with the heads facing down, #3.clipping stems and placing them individually on mesh holders with stems facing down and heads facing up. We have found that they all work, but we prefer #2. This not only saves on space but also saves on clean up for their final cleaning once cured. Oh and zip ties are a huge asset!

Harvest complete! These pics are just one row! Chris was the worker bee getting everything dug up but he was smiling the whole time at the bumper crop this year even though there was limited rain. He really babied the garlic this year and was out there watering it on a consistent basis - - again under the watchful eye of foreman Layla. Everything is now curing!
We have plenty of Red Russian (the flagship garlic we started with over 8 years ago) and limited Music garlic.
If anyone is interested in getting some from us, message us and we will put you in the list!
