Waiting in line for medical appointments was not on my bingo card for this week, but unfortunately life made other plans for me. I’m so sorry if you were hoping to see me at the St. Isadore Market today, but I had to cancel last minute.

However, everything I had made for the market will now be in the Farmstand. I currently have a small selection out there, and will fill it up more once I get back from waiting in line.

If you need an extra excuse to make the drive, is my one-acreage-over neighbour, and has so many beautiful plants.

We are ready for the .isidore.homestead market at this Saturday! We’ll have tulip bunches for $20 & $35, cute fairy bouquets for $8, lilac bunches for $15, all my gardening books, and a few seeds.

If you’re worried about bringing flowers home, don’t be! We have wraps for the drive home and if you pop your bouquet into the fridge when you get home, your flowers will close up more and you’ll still get good life out of them.

Planning on grabbing some tulips this week? Here’s what you need to know with the crazy heat.

Heat is the enemy of tulips and will blow them open faster than you can say open sesame. In the farm stand, we have both the curtain and an additional layer of frost fabric over the tulips to try and keep them as cool as we can. This is not a perfect solution.

However, if you are able to pop your tulips into the fridge as soon as you get home for a few hours, they will close back up again. It won’t be perfect, but it will help you get more time with them. If you can also put them in the fridge at night when you’re not enjoying them, that will help even more.

Normally I would put lots of bunches on the stand at once, but since it’s so hot I will only put 3 out at a time. If you want your tulips straight from the cooler, DM me what day/time you’re coming and I’ll have them ready for you.

The heat has sped things right along and we now have tons of tulips!! While most of these are a bit too open to sell, we have lots of more closed ones that will give you a better vase life.

Since it’s so warm and we don’t want to waste any, we’ll have an extra layer of shade fabric on the stand, and put more tulips out in the mornings and evenings. You can also DM me your order, and I can have something ready for you at a certain time, so it spends as little time as possible in the heat.

We have tulips!! 🌷🌷🌷 And with all the rain and a little bit of heat we should have enough for a few bouquets at the stan...

The Farmstand will be open today from 9:30am to whenever it gets dark. We have arrangements for $15, $25, $40, and $75. If you’re picking up a pre-order, your order will be on the table under the trees on the other side.
