So grateful and excited to be a part of the Paper Birch exhibition on March 3-14th at the Gordon Snelgrove gallery. Tomorrow, March 3rd, there’s going to be an artist talk by KC Adams at 11:30, and I can’t wait! The gallery is open 10 til 4, Mon-Fri if you want to come out and see some great Indigenous student art or try making some art yourself in a collaborative birch bark workshop. Thank you to everyone who made this possible!

Rock Isle Lake- Sunshine Meadows
Painted plein air in 2022 while I was living on mountain as a trail host. Had such an incredible experience teaching people about the meadows, guiding hikes and hiking every day on my favourite trail system. This fragile alpine meadow ecosystem has attracted many artists throughout the decades, and it’s so easy to understand why.

A quick twenty minute colour study in Fort Qu’Appelle SK. Almost at the end of the plein air season- worked outside in the snow last week. Days are getting shorter too- had to rush to try and capture the last little bit of daytime before the sun dipped below the valley hills.

Took a road trip up to Île-à-la-Crosse to volunteer with a WCVM spay-neuter clinic. I spent some extra time on my drive home exploring and painting. Love fitting in plein air work while the weather is still so good. Thank you to everyone who makes these clinics happen!

Sunday painting up at lower fishing lake in Narrow Hills. Had such a relaxing day- after saying goodbye to everyone we went down to the beach to do some painting and swimming. Even though leaves are starting to turn, the water was still warm.

I’m working as a researcher on Sable Island, Nova Scotia this summer. The days are long (and fun!), the people here are amazing and the scenery is stunning. Since it rained today I had the chance to go outside and paint a little when the clouds let up. Feeling so lucky to spend a month in such a magical place.

Having a great time working this week in Halifax! This afternoon was able to fit in a painting session at Halifax harbour and a visit to to see Maud Lewis paintings in person! They even have her house IN the gallery. Seeing her pieces made me want to have more fun with paintings and play around. Feeling so excited to head to Sable Island later this week!
