In two weeks we will be bringing E.I.F.S awareness to rural Saskatchewan when we visit the Nipawin Lions trade show.

Over the last number of years there has been a decline in building innovation within rural communities where materials and skilled labour can be scarce or come at a premium from your local building materials store. People will gravitate to more DIY materials that are easier to come by and often overlook the many other exterior finishes that are available in the market.

If your a builder, GC, homeowner or renovation specialist in rural communities across Saskatchewan, we are more than happy to facilitate material deliveries to site, what ever remote community you may be in, and find you the right contractor for the job.

Little Boss stopped by the shop today for some supper and to make sure we were keeping on top of things while he was away. He didn’t inspect the tractor (forklift) this time, although he regards it as a very important part of his job while at the office. Thanks for the supper and checking in on us boss!

JDS Building Supply is a small, family-oriented construction material provider that specializes in the sale and distribution of various wall cladding materials. We are seeking to fill a full-time warehouse/office support position. If you are organized, have a strong work ethic, are self driven and enjoy working in a small, personable, work environment we look forward to speaking with you! We are looking for a dedicated and energetic individual that wants to grow with our company, and are open to providing this individual with additional training and career opportunities in the future as they become required or available.

Position Responsibilities:

Inventory Control
Customer service - internal and external
Shipping and receiving
Minor Building and equipment maintenance
Load and unload trucks/clients with warehouse equipment
Delivery of materials to client jobsites
Warehouse/Office organization and cleanliness
Processing of orders and paperwork to ensure proper material is leaving and arriving at the warehouse

Qualities we are looking for:

Prior experience in a shipping/receiving position within a warehouse
Prior experience in a trade or handling of construction materials
Ability to lift material that weights up to 100lbs
Ability to self-direct, plan, and organize accordingly
General knowledge of computers
Familiarity with forklift operation
Exceptional customer service skills

Hours are Monday to Friday 7:30 to 4:30 with the possibility of some weekend work during peak season.

Refinished an old sample board today, dark blue to a light grey. So many colour combinations to choose from with acrylic finish coats. Our locally manufactured stone veneer product also offers custom colour requests for a truly unique finish to your home that is one of a kind!

A lot goes on behind the scenes here at JDS, we are always happy to source products for clients that you wouldn’t think we deal in. These gems are going to industrial sites in Nipawin and Yorkton (Hilti Epoxy Anchors/Guns, AC200+ Epoxy Anchors, Safety Tag Out Locks, and a portable electric winch). We have excellent relationships with many different suppliers and manufacturers to offer you access to a robust collection of construction materials, wherever you need it.

Some before and afters of our own little project we completed this winter on our reception desk. Keep swiping left to see the finished product! We used our ADEX Micatex finish coat, Innovative Stonecraft Pallisor Dessert Stone, and Fast Plank Dark Walnut aluminum plank siding. We’ve got solutions for everything!
