Each spring Someone likes to come in my greenhouse on Sunday's and take plants that interest them. They justify to themselves that to take just a little is not a big deal, it's not going to cost that much, she can afford to lose just that little bit. Well this year, someone took a full plug tray and a part tray of Salvia Vista mix. That's approximately 600 + small plants. Why they would think I won't miss it is beyond me. I need those trays to complete an order for a customer. Now I have to try to reorder more trays which cost a lot more than the stolen trays because I have to meet shipping minimums, extra trucking costs to get it sent here and that's if I'm lucky to still find the variety I need for this customer. If I try to seed these myself that puts me several weeks behind schedule. It's so much more than just a missing tray, a little financial loss!

Lady bugs are the best at eating aphids and I like to use them in my greenhouse. Each spring it has been difficult to get Lady bugs in March when I need them. So I have decided to over winter, Lady bugs in a house and cage. I built the house myself with insulated panels on the outside and bamboo tubes for hibernation. Placed it inside as an old lizard cage from my daughter. I even got a bag of powdered lady bug food for the times they are active instead of hibernating. Here's hoping enough of the 500 survive until March arrives and I can release them into the greenhouse.

This little guy has been driving us all crazy with his chirping, especially because we haven't been able to see him. Tree frogs have the amazing ability to blend into their surroundings. They sound more like birds or chipmunks than they do frogs. This one has been hiding at the entrance way to the greenhouse. Every time we would try to find him he'd be quiet.

My daughter's veggie patch in the greenhouse has really grown with the recent warmth and sunlight.
