Over two full weeks in Whistler, we converted stain to paint throughout a wood-heavy interior. Turning the timber ceiling into a brighter, more modern contrast without losing the cabin soul.
Before a single spray pass, there was a lot to get right. All furniture was removed from the working areas so we had proper space to move, and so upholstered pieces didn’t soak up any oil primer fumes.
Floors and stairs were fully protected with carpet cling and RAM Board, and every surrounding surface—logs, beams, posts, rafters, railings—was meticulously masked.
From there, the T&G ceilings were lightly sanded to prep the surface and again between coats. We sprayed two coats of oil primer, followed by two coats of paint, with proper PPE and ventilation throughout.
Once the spraying was complete, everything was carefully de-masked, followed by a thorough clean-up to leave the home ready to enjoy.
Huge credit to the crew on this one: Danik, Amelia, Claire, and Tyler.
Big thanks to Marwynn Construction Corp and the homeowner for trusting the process.
