Tephra Renovation Construction is seeking to add a member to our team. We
are looking for an experienced and responsible Concrete Finisher (NOC
7282) to work on both commercial and residential environments. It’s a full time
position (40 hours/week), $25/hour paid on a bi-weekly basis. We don’t offer
benefits. This position is suitable for someone with experience in concrete
repair work, but that has also a desire to learn and evolve in various
environment and job tasks. We are a small family owned company which
mean the position will require some labour and hand-on duties. The perfect
candidate would be responsible, take attention to details and has some
leadership in order to work well alone and in team.
Main Responsibilities and duties as a Concrete Finisher (NOC 7282) include
but are not limited to:
- Operate a variety of hand and power tools including vi****or to compact
concrete, drills, saws and grinders to cut and polish concrete,
compressors, vacuums and other tools,
- Fill hollows and remove high spots to smooth freshly poured concrete,
- Check formwork, granular base and steel reinforcement materials and
direct placement of concrete into forms or onto surfaces according to grad,
- Level top surface of concrete according to grade and depth specifications
using straightedge or float,
- Install anchor bolts, steel plates, door sills and other fixtures in freshly
poured concrete,
- Apply hardening and sealing compounds to cure surface of concrete,
- Waterproof, damp-proof and restore concrete surfaces,
- Prepare construction sites as needed, including erecting scaffolding,
removing and properly disposing of debris and waste materials
- Maintain a safe and clean job site by handling materials and storing them
properly, picking up and removing all tools and equipment when not in
use, and securing the job site on a daily basis.
Requirements:
Work Experience
- Must have at least 1-year work experience as a concrete finisher
- Strong demonstrable experience in general construction, repairs,
resurface and replace worn or damaged sections of floors, walls, roads
and other concrete structures,
- Must have valid and clean driving licence,
- Must have a car to go to and from jobsites (This position require to go
multiple locations),
- Must have a cell phone to record the hours worked on a daily basis.
Education
- Completion of secondary school required
Additional Skills
- Experience with Soprema Alsan RS waterproofing systems a plus,
- Demonstrable experience in masonry and pavement installation,
- Leadership position experience an asset.
