Once again, it feels like forever since I posted. I'm still working on projects and my stash, but a wee bit slower than normal.

Here's a solid maple cabinet, some people would call it a pie cabinet. I removed all the paint and stain, added new hardware, and had glass installed in the door with new hinges. It took quite awhile as there was a lot of prep involved.

Would make a great entertainment stand or in the dining room for some extra storage. Available for purchase.

Slowly getting through my backlog of furniture. The first.puc is a client cabinet that I repaired and juessed up a wee bit.

I've had a pair of actual MCM chairs in my living room for at least a year. I washed the down and recovered the seat and back. I decided to leave as is for now but I'm pretty sure it's walnut.

And finally I've finished 8 dining chairs for son #1, currently his 1970' dining chairs which are white and cream colored do not match the new color in the dining room. I picked up these for roughly $50 at an auction. I cleaned them well, did some repairs, put extra padding in and painted the leather. They are at the very least 100 years old, likely around 1880's.

Still lots more to come.

As many of you know my work schedule has been rather hectic since May,leaving me very little time to spend in my precious workshop.

I have managed to get some small things done but can't take on any client work as I can't commit to a timeline.

Here's a dresser that was sitting in my shed for two years, then moved inside for another 2 years. It needed quite a lot of work and since my skills have improved I felt it was time to tackle it. I started it 6 months ago, lol, but I finally finished it.

It's a solid oak 19th century dresser which was missing the entire right side. With lots of patience and some help from a couple of friends fabricating drawer slides, I finally got to the refinishing stage.

I used a dark walnut stain and wax for the whole thing and black magic paint on the sides to give it a slightly more modern look. Will be posting it for sale later tonight.

One more project done on my couple of days off. This is an old handmade dresser, around 1930's. I like to call them a "pops special". It's solid wood, but it's a plywood, not anything I have seen before. Not your typical multiply plywood, much thicker than that. You can see the wavy grain through the paint which I really like

I used two shades of greige, both.oops paint. I added new drawer bottoms as the old ones were warped. I had to remove the old very large wooden k***s. Still trying to figure out how they screwed them in without seeing the actual screw head. New modern handles added and all finished in beeswax. Available for purchase for now. 36L, 17 deep, 31 tall.

What a crazy summer this has been. Work has kept me much too busy. I just recently finished a dining room for a client. I can honestly say that was my last one.

I have to get through some inventory that's been sitting way too long. First to be done are these set of nightstands. They were painted a nightmarish glossy electric blue, everywhere. It took me
weeks to get it all off, as well as the black paint underneath it. The veneer on top and the sides was not salvageable so I painted it in cast iron by Benjamin Moore.

The drawers were done in a cathedral taupe paintwash and everything has a coat of beeswax. I forgot to take some good before pics. Available for purchase ATM.

Another project all finished up. This is a serving table from the 19th century, mostly pine and the small drawers are mahogany.

I have to say it was a challenge getting off all the old shellac and stain, smelly and messy too. It's in pretty good shape considering its age. It came out of the lovely cottage estate on kenna's hill and is about to reside in my son's dining room.

The next few weeks will be spent on client work, so stay tuned for that.

Hello friends, it's been awhile. My life has been hectic lately. I'm having a little break but of course set to get hectic again.

Here's a look at what I've been up to in my scattered spare time.

I refreshed my nan's cabinet and it's is bound for my first borns home. His home and this piece are approximately the same age.

I also refinished a vintage dresser which went out the door pretty quick.

Add on to that some bins and bobs for a favorite client and we are caught up.

Stay tuned for some more gems coming soon.

Busy times at work, not leaving me much time in the workshop.

Here's a solid maple dresser, no veneer I picked up at Bartlett's auction. I scraped off the bad stain job and sanded. Then I applied an alonquin paint wash to soften it up. Finished with beeswax and new hardware.

Available for $300 , if interested give me a shout.

Well 2025 is certainly flying by. As usual I have lots of irons in the fire. I'm currently working on a 1970's sears coffee table that is 90 percent done.

While waiting for that to move along I managed to finish a dresser. It was completely painted and I just had to see what was underneath.

To my delight it was curly maple and even some birdseye maple and it was in absolutely fantastic shape.

I replaced all the drawer bottoms, got some new bin pulls and keyhole covers.

It's a gorgeous small antique dresser that should last another 100 years. I didn't stain it, but merely used danish oil and besswax to highlight the beautiful grain.

Well folks it's been busy at work and I've also been busy in the workshop. I refreshed two pieces for a favorite client. One being a record player cabinet and the other the last MCM chair to match her other two.

I've been trying to get through what I have on hand but as usual found a good buy which is what I'm working on now.

Lastly I finally finished a kitchen cabinet I've had for way too long. It needed a lot of work. New castors, new glass in the doors, a new bat latch and the list goes on.

Take a peek at what I've been up to.

I know it's been a long time, but I've been busy at MBC with hockey, basketball and curling. Tomorrow starts my third seven day stretch working day and night. In between I managed to get an hour here or there to get some furniture work done.

I'm happy to say my big convent piece is complete. It's a handmade pine chest, ideally suited for linens or any kind of storage you may need. I was told it came out of one of the city convents. It's been a challenge.

Lots of sanding and scraping, plus painting. I left some of the wood exposed and used my favorite danish oil with walnut and beeswax. I added a small dose of gold to offset the dark dramatic green I mixed with three colors.

It's on casters(original) and easyish to move, I'll add some wd40 to them. The inside has been sanded, vacuumed and washed and left natural. The last remaining Eastlake drop pull I had was installed and a new vintage keyhole cover.

All ready to go to a new place. It's 32wide, 19 deep, and 50 high.

Priced at $275 DM if interested.

Drab to Fab. Just finished this double waterfall dresser done in a custom mixed dark olive fusion paint.

The veneer is in great shape, I nourished it with danish oil with a bit of walnut stain.

Lovely tallboy prices to go at $225
