Our gate will be open the morning of the 25th between 9 and 12 for custom order container drop offs.

There will be a table set up in front of the greenhouse where we are asking you to drop off any hanging baskets or containers you want us to plant. We will be available if you are wanting to discuss your order. PLEASE remember to attach a piece of paper to your items with your name and phone number or email.

New to our custom planting service? It’s easy! All you need to do is bring us your containers (or purchase them from us - you can view our selection of containers on our website at (www.petalsandfoliage.ca/custom-planters) Some info we will want to know is sun exposure, specific colours & plants, green thumb & enjoy deadheading or just set a price point and we can surprise you! You only pay for the products used, our time and creativity is part of our service!

There may be snow in the air (and a bit on the ground) but we are keeping even the teeny seedlings warm. With warmth however they can dry out quickly so they get monitored closely and watered regularly throughout the day. In a few weeks they will be transplanted into 4 packs and then out to your gardens to grow and eat!

We have been creating some airplant terrariums to carry this season! Some delicate, some bright & bold. Only a few more weeks and our doors will be open for you to see them all!

Happy Birthday Chris!

Chris has already been so busy getting things set up for the season but we are happy to say he has taken the afternoon off to enjoy some time away from work! If you know him, that does not happen often!!

Who is ready for THREE varieties of vinca?!

We often sell out of vinca quickly in a season. We aren’t surprised though! They add a delicate foliage to trail over planters and hanging baskets.

Will you stick with the classic variety or switch to one of the other beautiful options?

The weather might be giving us whiplash but it’s nice and cozy inside the greenhouse!

We are excited to be adding a few new blooms to our benches this year. We have never carried this Jolly Tiger Calibrachoa before and it’s giving sunshine vibes as the snow falls onto the greenhouse roof.

Today’s weather allowed Chris to work on some glass maintenance!

The greenhouse doors and vents were closed up to allow all that gorgeous sunshine and warmth to really collect. This heat softens the putty allowing Chris to remove the broken pane of glass and help the new sheet to stick in place. Every year some pieces of the glass roof will slide down slightly from the summer heat or break under the weight of the snow. We always feel pretty lucky when we get a chance to climb up onto the roof and do the repairs so early in March.

Thank you to everyone who came out to our farm stand while we were raising money for Giving Tuesday! We were able to purchase several sizes of diapers, some formula and a few postpartum items that were donated to the St Marys Salvation Army. What a wonderful way for us to celebrate our new baby!
