When a client says, “I felt as though they were family helping me.”

This one really touched us. Moving can be overwhelming at the best of times, but when you’re unable to manage everything yourself, having the right support around you can make all the difference.

We recently helped Pat with her move, and this is what she shared:
“Judy and her staff were efficient and so kind and respectful of me and my belongings. I felt as though they were family helping me. This experience made a potentially difficult move actually a pleasant one.”

That’s exactly how we want our clients to feel.
Yes, we organize, pack, downsize, declutter and manage the details but just as importantly, we want you to feel supported, respected and cared for throughout the process.

Thank you, Pat, for trusting Clutter Relief Services with your move and for sharing such kind words.

If any one here is looking to downsize, declutter or manage an upcoming move, please give us a call. We’re always happy to help!

TUESDAY TIP: THE 5-THING RESET.

September has a way of making us want to get back into routines and get organized again but before you look around your home and decide you need to tackle EVERYTHING, start small.

Here’s my simple Just 5 Things:
Pick ONE space (not two, this 1 space focus is key!), a drawer, shelf, cupboard or corner. Find 5 things you no longer use, need or love.

Decide: Donate, sell, recycle or toss.

Get those items OUT of the house and not into a bag that lives by the front door for the next three months.

Repeat tomorrow if you’re feeling motivated and that’s it.

You don’t need to declutter your entire home in one day to make progress.

Five things today.
Five more tomorrow.
Small decisions add up to BIG changes.

And if you’re looking around thinking, “Judy, five things aren’t even going to make a dent…”, that might be a sign it’s time to give me a call.
I am always happy to help.

Happy back to work and back to routine season. I hope this simple Just 5 Things Reset helps you ease back into your routine feeling a little more organized and a lot less overwhelmed.

Happy Labour Day!
Today is a good reminder to slow down, enjoy the last little bit of summer and this gorgeous sunshine, and appreciate all the work that goes into creating the homes we love.

And if there’s one thing my work has taught me, it’s that there is A LOT that happens behind the scenes of a home. Organizing, cleaning, maintaining, sorting, moving, downsizing, and the list never really ends!

So today, give yourself permission to leave that drawer, closet or pile for another day.

Enjoy some rest, spend time with the people you love, and soak up this beautiful day.

Wishing all of my clients, friends and community a relaxing and happy Labour Day!

Happy Wellness Wednesday!

This little pasta flower was made by my daughter when she was young, and yes, I still have it.

As a professional organizer and decluttering expert, I talk a lot about letting go of things we no longer need, but that doesn’t mean every sentimental item has to go.

Here’s one of my favourite tips for kids’ artwork, 3D projects, favourite toys and stuffed animals:
Take a photo of your child with the item before you let it go.
You’ll capture so much more than the object itself. You’ll remember how old they were, what they looked like, and the story behind something that once meant so much to them.

And if there are a few treasures that still make you smile years later?
Keep them. Decluttering isn’t about getting rid of everything. It’s about being intentional about what deserves space in your home.
This little pasta flower made the cut. ❤️

To all the parents here, what’s one thing your child made that you could NEVER part with?

TUESDAY TIP: Clutter Creates More Than a Mess.

Clutter doesn’t just take up physical space. It can affect how we feel in our own homes.
Research published in the Journal of Environmental Psychology found that greater possession clutter was associated with a weaker sense of “psychological home” and lower reported well-being.
In other words, when our surroundings feel chaotic, it can become harder for home to feel like the calm, comfortable place we want it to be.
Clutter can become a constant visual reminder of things that need to be put away, sorted, dealt with or decided on.

Tuesday Tip: Look around the room you spend the most time in and identify the things that are creating the most visual noise. Clear surfaces of items that don’t need to be out every day, and give the things you use regularly a designated home.
You may be surprised by how different a room can feel without changing anything major. Because decluttering isn’t just about creating a tidier home. It’s about creating a space that feels better to live in.

Sometimes, you have to measure twice before deciding what stays.

And no, I’m not just talking about the frame on the wall. When it comes to decluttering or downsizing, one of the biggest questions I encourage my clients to ask is:
Does this still fit the life I’m living now? Not just physically, but practically and emotionally too.
Does it fit your current space?
Do you actually use it?
Would you choose it again today?
Does it add something meaningful to your home or has it simply been there for years?

Downsizing isn’t about getting rid of everything you love. It’s about becoming more intentional about what earns a place in your home.
And sometimes, yes, that starts with a measuring tape.

If you’re preparing to downsize, move, or simply create a little more breathing room at home, my team at Clutter Relief Services is here to help.
Not sure where to start? Send me a message or contact me through my website to set up your free assessment. We can talk about what you need, where you’re feeling stuck, and how we can make the process easier.
