Today is The National Day of Truth and Reconciliation, September 30th. This day relates to the experience of Phyllis Webstad, a Northern Secwpemc (Shuswap) from the Stswecem’c Xgat’tem First Nation, on her first day of school, where she arrived dressed in a new orange shirt, which was taken from her. It is now a symbol of the stripping away of culture, freedom and self-esteem experienced by Indigenous children over generations.

We wish to take this opportunity to thank all our valued customers for their loyalty and support over these last few years. Recently the Registrar of Direct Sellers and Director of Financial and Consumer Services of P.E.I. made an order to remove the company's capacity to sell directly to consumers in their home by suspending our licence. With that said we are still operating from our place of business, and we are able to service you from that location. Feel free to bring in your water samples for testing, purchase salt for your conditioners and purchase filters and replacement parts.

Since Maritime Home Services first opened its doors in the Spring of 2020, Eustace Reeves of Reeves Water Treatment has made it his mission to push Maritime Home Services out of business. He has used his influence in the media, the police, and the government of PEI to make outlandish claims and paint Maritime Home Services as being a business that is less than ethical.

No one would take the time that Mr. Reeves has taken to contact the media, the RCMP and the government officials unless they had an underlying motive. The motive here is clear, to put Maritime Home Services out of business so that Reeves Water Treatment can dominate the small PEI market for water treatment services. This is a direct attempt to alter the free market environment in Canada and to bring undo harm to Maritime Home Services, it’s owners and its employees using false accusations and fabricated claims.

We wish to assure all our customers that we will be honouring the warranty on all our products and services, and they will not be affected by this matter. If you require any service we have our local plumbers available to service your needs. You can also come into our offices and have your water tested as we are OPEN for business (although we are unable to come into your home).

With that said we are seeking your support to have our Direct Seller’s licence reinstated. We feel that we have been unjustly accused and with your support we are planning to appeal the matter and have our licence reinstated.

We kindly request that you support our cause and sign a petition that has been started (please see below). Once again thank you for your loyalty and we look forward to servicing all your water treatment needs for many years to come.
