Thinking about replacing your deck? Here's why more homeowners are choosing Tanzite StoneDecks.

If you're tired of sanding, staining, and replacing warped or faded boards every few years, it might be time to look at something different.

• Slip-resistant surface for added safety
• Fade-resistant with exceptional UV performance
• Built to handle Alberta's harsh freeze/thaw cycles

When choosing new flooring, one of the most common questions we get is:

"What's the difference between LVP, SPC, and laminate?"

The truth is, there isn't a one-size-fits-all answer. The best flooring depends on how you live, your design style, and where it's being installed.

Luxury Vinyl Plank (LVP)

LVP is one of the most versatile flooring options available. It offers a softer, quieter feel underfoot than SPC while still being completely waterproof. It's an excellent choice for busy family homes where comfort is just as important as durability.

Best suited for:
• Living rooms
• Bedrooms
• Kitchens
• Basements
* Can be used in Washrooms

SPC (Stone Plastic Composite)

SPC is built with an ultra-rigid core, making it one of the most durable flooring products on the market. It stands up exceptionally well to heavy traffic, pets, and furniture, while remaining 100% waterproof. If performance is your top priority, SPC is often the right choice.

Best suited for:
• High-traffic homes
• Rental properties
• Commercial spaces
• Mudrooms and entryways
*Can be used in washrooms

Laminate

Today's laminate flooring has come a long way. It offers incredibly realistic wood visuals and excellent scratch resistance at a great value. While many products now offer improved water resistance, laminate is still best suited to areas where standing moisture isn't a concern.

Best suited for:
• Living rooms
• Bedrooms
• Home offices
*Not recommended in washrooms

We don't start by asking, "Which flooring is best?" We start by asking how you live.

Do you have pets? Young children? Large windows with direct sunlight? Are you renovating a forever home or an investment property? Every answer influences the recommendation.

At Timber Ridge, we take the time to understand your space before recommending a product. Our goal is to help you choose flooring that not only looks beautiful today, but continues to perform for years to come.

Which is better: Sink under window or in island?

We have seen a lot of both options when doing projects for clients. Our honest opinion is if possible to put your sink under the window rather than on the island, because dishes are messy and an island has a habit of collecting clutter as it is without the added dirty dishes piling up there too.

Instead of a sink on the island we recommend doing a cooktop, it's better for socializing with family and friends while cooking. Tell us what you think!
