Roots are a big cause of weeping line failures. The roots will grow towards the bed as its a constant source of water. If your property has tree's close to the bed the roots will find there way to it eventually. As the roots start taking over the lines the water going to the bed will start to take longer to empty from the tank creating septic issues at peak times(showering,washing clothes and etc). Eventually it will stop allowing water in to the bed and raise the level in the tank which means you now have a holding tank rather then a working system,that you are pumping out all the time. Sometimes depending how your system is installed it will flood above the tank with very little impact to the household, still creating pooling and should be fixed as soon as possible to ensure the waste water is going to its proper place a working weeping bed.

This home owner was only 6 inches down and had a winter issue. It took many hours for them to chisel the ground out to service the tank. They do now have risers and are free from that having to do that again.

When getting risers done it's always a good time to ensure your baffles are in good shape. Baffles play a very important role in the tank like this exiting baffle. It makes sure no solids are able to get to the septic bed. If liquid is going over top of your baffle it's time to replace it

Once again this customer was told to put something over this lid that broke when they tried to get it off. They were not able to get the lid off but it did come off in pieces. This another big safety concern as it wouldn't have handled somone walking on it. Good on customer for replacing it.

PLEASE READ
So this is the first time this tank was pumped out in over 4 years and first time for this homeowner. Remember we dig these lids out the tank gets pumped and we bury the lids and forget about it for several years. Well the last time pumped out a lid got broke so instead of replacing it properly they used a piece of plywood. Most times we are lucky that the wood makes it to next pump out. This one for example was only 2 inches under the ground which causes many more problems as it can easily be dug up by an animal or kids playing in the backyard. Easily shift. Wood can even rot causing it to weaken and not being able to hold any weight crossing it. For the price to have it done proper it's really not worth taking a chance. You don't always have to have both done at the same.
Please remember once this is buried we want to ensure it will be safe for the years ahead.
