I wanted to show off a couple of newish additions to my collection. I love echeverias with vampy vibes so the first three especially caught my eye. I suspect most of these are crossbreedings of E. Black Queen. E. Dark Chocolate is also a crossbreeding of E. Black Tetra, so I wouldn’t be surprised if they were all related in some way.

1. Odette
2. Dark Opal
3. White Soul
4. Black Tetra
5. Dark Chocolate
6. Ellin

What a lovely sunny week we have been getting in the lower mainland. Our succulents have exploded with color in the past couple of weeks. Even stubborn green babes are starting to show off new stress colors. When sunlight peaks through the entire room seems to light up ☀️

I’m sitting at the salon at the moment going through my camera roll and found this photo of my Echeveria that I never posted. It’s showing off it’s lovely vampy purple center. We’ve seen a lot of new varieties this year with similar purple coloring such as Echeveria dark chocolate, Echeveria White Soul, Echeveria dark opal, and Echeveria odette to name a few, so I plan to snap a group pic soon to show how they differ. Have a great weekend, friends!

We are packing up Sunday’s orders! Most of you should have gotten your shipping notification, but for the remaining few its because Canada Post is being glitchy with their shipping labels, so we may upgrade the rest of y’all to express if the problem continues to persist.

Pictured is Echeveria Elizabeth

Today we have Graptoveria Opalina, and some of her lookalikes. Opalina is one of the first I ever collected, and is a beautiful classic breeding between Echeveria colorata fa colorata and Graptopetalum amethystinum (aka pink moonstones). Can you tell which one is opalina? She’s bottom right! Above Opalina is a nameless hybrid of Colorata and Oviferum. Diagonal of opalina is another mysterious variety that arrived labeled as “Opalina hybrid”, interestingly it seems to grow larger and wider leaves. Perhaps it’s from the mystery parent, or it’s simply a larger more mature plant. Lastly, on the left of Opalina we have an Air Magic hybrid called Coco Moon! After taking these photos, I found another 2 additional lookalikes. Part 2 anyone?

Hope you enjoyed this post! Let me know if you want to see more comparisons in the future

Looks can be deceiving. Despite its lovely appearance, when a plant suddenly turns peach coloured like this, it’s unfortunately usually a sign of rot. Also notice how its outer leaves are translucent and orange, which is never a good sign. It will be getting a chop right after I make this post. The newest growth still looks solid, so hopefully we can remove the part of the stem that is rotting and save her. Fingers crossed 🤞

Happy hump day 🐪 Two more days until the weekend. We can do this! 💪

This beauty doesn’t have a name, though the exporter mentioned it was a crossbreeding of E. Colorata. Those faceted ruby tips are lovely. I can’t help but think there’s some pulidonis mixed in, which hopefully means it’ll be able to get even more really intense colouring!

Echeveria white lotus 🪷
These beauties are covered in dense powdery pruinose. They are quick to root and grow, just don’t wear black when potting 😆
