Ready for a reveal?!
This space used to be completely purple with a teal chandelier, basic trim, and louvered bi-fold doors welcoming you inside like a cowboy.
While we kept the femininity of the previous room, this room is so much more sophisticated now.
Can you believe that the former trim was a standard farmhouse baseboard, a ¼” shoe moulding at the crown, and a popcorn ceiling?
Every bit of trim in the room is new. From the marvellous carved ceiling medallions, to the running coin with bead and barrel crown moulding, we used mouldings to bring the character back that this home should have always had.
The trick to making so many colours work in this home is carrying through the Feather Down colour on the walls to create that consistent base while giving each and every room it’s own personality.
In this room, the stunning blush and rich burgundy play off of the hardwoods perfectly.
We layered up the windows with linen cafe curtains and velvet draperies.
And finished off the space with a custom concrete mantle and hearth that I designed in collaboration with ANR Concrete.
This is one of my favourite rooms in the home and one that we found ourselves taking breaks in while doing the 3-day install here.
It’s so warm and inviting and I’m so happy to finally be able to share it with you!
