Hazards of Soak & Scrape Process

- Too much water could damage the Sheetrock that is underneath. Water could cause it to expand or crack. - Water will absorb into the ceiling and make it heavy. This could cause the ceiling Sheetrock to loosen from the fasteners and hang. - Hazardous to your health, wet drywall that is not properly dried will breed mold. You may not see it, or even know it is there because it can be hidden inside the ceiling cavity. - If there are any wires or lighting in the drywall where water infiltrated, than you can have a fire hazard. Once water comes into contact with anything electrical, this creates an immediate danger.

When we remove the popcorn from your ceiling and during the sanding process, the dust is extracted directly at the tool – exactly where it is produced. Positive side effects: Clean and Healthy.

A lot of people spray their ceilings with water before scraping to loosen them up, but we do not recommend it. Not only will it be a sloppy mess, but it will absorb into the ceiling and make it heavy; then it could start to expand and crack.
