Did you know that more than 6 million Canadians live with arthritis? It’s Arthritis Awareness Month, and today, let’s talk about the connection between bathroom safety and this serious inflammatory disease.

Arthritis causes a person’s joints to be inflexible and stiff, so they typically have limited mobility while navigating spaces. Moving becomes difficult and painful, so it’s more challenging and sometimes impossible for a person with arthritis to safely enter and exit their bathtub for a shower. Yet when a customer with arthritis converts their bathtub into an accessible walk-in tub, it’s life-changing. They often continue bathing independently with less discomfort.

Before you decide on which product works for you when it comes to transforming your tub into a walk-in, you probably want to clarify your new tub’s height. Will it change? The answer is yes!
It really depends on your tub’s original height and which product you choose for your space. With our products, the “Convertible” and the “Step”, we’ll be removing about eight inches from the top of your tub. With our other product, the “Ultra-Low”, we will remove 13.25 inches

To figure out what your new tub height will be, here’s how you can do it: Just measure your tub on the outside to determine its current height, and then subtract the removed inches that we listed above. Easy!

You can check out these products and more info on our services on our website: www.bathaccess.ca/bathtub-accessibility/
