Art Toronto and Artist Project are pleased to present "Databells," a free immersive installation on view in the lobby at Art Toronto at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre through November 1.

Created by Ottawa-based artist Rich Loen, Databells is an immersive kinetic sound installation comprising 99 individually controlled bells that translate statistical data into an evolving acoustic environment. Part sculpture, part performance, and part commentary, the work reflects on how humans and the environment communicate through data.

Drawing from pop culture and mass media, Avery remixes salvaged advertisements, thrifted items, dollar-store finds, and curb-scored objects, altering text and adding painted or sculptural interventions to give them new life.

Her practice speaks to the growing loneliness and disconnect of modern life, and the ways we try to fill those gaps through consumption. By reclaiming once-forgettable objects, Avery creates work that feels rebellious, resilient, and deeply human.
