Dovercourt Village Mews

Dovercourt Village Mews A mixed-use (commercial and residential) boutique building in a great central location, close to tran

Our building has been here since 1910 and we have a plaque commemorating that on the outside of the building. Many years ago, there was a general store called Adanac Stores on the ground floor at the corner (address: 408 Delaware Ave.) That space has since been subdivided into 2 commercial spaces. For a long time, one of the spaces was occupied by Mena’s Hair Salon. The current owners bought the b

uilding in 2015 and have since renewed some aspects of the building: windows, flooring materials, air conditioners, and the like. They also divided the main house to create a Guest Suite on the ground floor. Ground floor access makes it easier for some visitors who cannot tackle the stairs up to the second floor.

Tariff-free shopping! Coming to a neighbourhood near you!

Shout-out to anyone who wants to shop like it's still 2024. We're having a Garage Sale - more correctly, an in-front-of-the-garage sale - on June 7, 2025. 10 a.m. until 12 noon. And what bargains can you score for tempting, tariff-free prices? At last check, we'll have housewares...decor items... small appliances... office items... possibly small toys... and more! Come and be surprised - we certainly will be when we see what treasures we've unearthed from inside the building.

Cash only/no early birds. No rain date - but the weather gods may be cooperating. See you there!

Once again, near the top of the class on our booking platform! But banned by the city of Toronto from operating. Obviously, not a customer service issue, as travellers liked us. Complaints? None; we filed a freedom of information request back to September 2016, when we started offering short-term rentals, and nothing was found. So, why can't we operate? Reasons shift with every form letter we receive. But it seems that the Toronto Taliban don't like the interior layout of our real estate. Have dubbed our ground-floor guest suite a basement. Claim we are assessed as a single-family dwelling when this building has been mixed-use since 1910. Guess the taxpayers of Toronto have nothing better to do with their money than shell out for the Short-Term Rental police. P.S And, nope, the space cannot go "back" onto the long-term housing market because it was never on the LT market. Just ain't big enough for year-round living.

Just got this rating although we've never heard of the source. It does say our rating was generated by AI. Not big fans of AI but, as long as the robots like us, I guess it's OK!

Is the driver of this car you? Or someone you know? This do*****ag blocked our garage on March 12. The car was likely left there overnight, Saturday to Sunday. The driver narrowly escaped being ticketed and towed. No matter: our policy is now, in addition to calling the police, to report the plate to the Ministry of Transportation. Apart from the fact the City of Toronto bylaw prohibits parking within 60 cm of a driveway (which includes garage exits such as ours), anyone who cannot see a 1.5 car-sized, light-coloured garage door PLUS two No Parking signs, likely has a vision problem and shouldn't be on the road.

What aspect of respecting the environment do they not get?

Too many people use the planters on Hallam Street as garbage bins. Hello? Just because it is winter, doesn't mean life isn't growing in the soil. Didn't they teach you that at school? (Lots of plants go dormant in the winter months.) Week after week, people leave all manner of trash in the planter outside our building, including dog p**p bags. Folks: It is time to take your trash home with you!!! Stop harming the environment.
