🚨 Enbridge’s new Home Efficiency Rebate is here! 🚨

💡 The Good: You can get up to $5,000 for energy upgrades like heat pumps, insulation, and more, plus a $600 rebate to cover energy assessments.

⚠️ The Bad: You need to complete two upgrades to qualify, and there are a limited number of approved energy advisors you can use to qualify. Also, the rebates are a bit lower than previous programs. For example, air source heat pump rebates range from $500 to $2,000, depending on size.

If you’re already planning multiple upgrades, this is perfect for you! But if you’re eyeing just the heat pump rebate, you might need to pair it with air sealing. Oh, and don’t forget, you can combine this with the Canada Greener Home Loan for up to $40,000 interest-free!

Heat pumps - but for your hot water! ⚡ 🚰

Heat pump water heaters are 3 to 4 times more efficient than conventional water heaters. They use the same technology to heat the water as heat pumps do, transferring heat from the surrounding air into your water instead of burning fuel or using conventional electric resistance.

They are more expensive to purchase up front, but there's lifetime savings to be had because they are so efficient. Jouleia just released a calculator to help you understand those lifetime savings.
