A new year and a a new TV. ❤️ I didn’t update this account much in 2023 because I quit my stressful FT job back in June and took the leap to pursue my jewellery business alongside other projects full-time. It was such a pivotal year for personal and business growth for me. It was such a wild and turbulent ride. I am honestly so happy that I invested in myself and achieved so much. Here’s to an amazing 2024. Happy New Year! 🎆

𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐩𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐡𝐮𝐬 𝐝𝐞𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐲𝐢

This came to me as a tiny cutting from my plant friend, , back in 2019 (thank you, Michael!).

For the first time this year I fertilized it and it bloomed three flowers at the same time! One flower just finished its bloom cycle. I am a bit of a chronic under-fertilizer but since quitting my FT job I have been able to properly care for my plants. I really like how this plant looks. A little alien and the spikes don’t hurt. Haha.

This P. ridleyi always had short fronds. But since ditching them recently it’s growing more like a normal specimen. I’ll have to move it down a bit on this SKÅDIS pegboard so the lights don’t burn the antler fronds. My Air Plant board is also looking pretty wild.

Haven’t had a lot of time to photograph my plants and share their milestones. But wanted to share this moment of my Pseudolithos mirgiurtinus beginning to form its first blooms. I’ll try to photograph it when they open! Apparently, the blooms smell like rotting garbage. 😂

𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐲𝐜𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐮𝐦 𝐌𝐭 𝐊𝐢𝐭𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐤𝐨𝐨𝐝 ⁣

A hybrid of P. ridleyi x P. coronarium this is one of my most favourite Staghorn Ferns. But I am slightly terrified by how large this Mt Kitshakood is getting. The only thing I have changed is I have begun fertilizing all my Wall Mounts every watering (once a week). The growth has been explosive as a result. Typically I am a chronic under-fertilizer but I am trying to do better. ❤️

𝐂𝐞𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐚 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐢⁣

Native to South Africa, this seed-grown specimen is one of the shortest plants in the Ceropegia genus. The flowers are numerous and have a musty smell that attracts a profusion of insects to help pollinate it. Definitely one of my favourite genus to grow!

Platycerium Erawan is a hybrid of P. elephantotis and P. madagascariense. ⁣
⁣
For some reason, I am obsessed with collecting them. I currently have 3 and absolutely LOVE the fishtail antler fronds and that beautiful waffle shield fronds. They pup easily (a dominant trait by both parents) and seems resilient enough to tolerate lower humidity as long as I keep on top of watering.
