Theresa Casey is one of Canada's most distinguished and celebrated designers. Her award-winning work for an international clientele has been described by the Globe and Mail as "the work of a designer who is not interested in spaces that are 'done'; rather, she works the shapes, proportions and textures, and light int
o a harmonious and emotionally satisfying balance." Casey Design Group's current work includes a clean contemporary country residence site on a ravine, the renovation of a historically important Toronto home, and a condominium that juxtaposes an architecturally protected historic facade with a modern addition. She applies her extensive educational background in history, art history, fine art and design (studies in Italy, US and Canada) into each project and appeals to both traditional and contemporary clients. Her vision is to create architecturally authentic spaces which emphasize scale, texture, color and proportion within the framework of the client's needs. She believes that clients who know themselves make their own mark; "I just help them to get there by encouraging risks, innovation and individuality." Most recently, Theresa Casey was selected as a Feature Exhibitor at the 2012 Toronto Interior Design Show. She has been honored with ARIDO Gold Award of Excellence in 2003 and Awards of Merit in 2009 and 2010 for exhibit design, small spaces and historic renovation. Her work has been widely published since the early 1990's - she was selected as a leader in Canadian Residential design by Canadian House and Home Magazine and Toronto Life has choses Ms. Casey's company as one of the top residential design firms in the city for the last ten years. Says Theresa: "I approach each project with a fresh eye to create layered interiors that are original in design, highly detailed in execution , and that respond to my client's interesting lives."
