A little request outside of our regular programming…

On June 5th, our nephew/cousin Dacen McLean had a horrible accident while traveling in Italy. Some of you may know Dacen as he’s an East Van boy… a former Hastings elementary student, and a Templeton 2023 grad.

It has been a terrifying week for Dacen, and all who love him dearly. I won’t go into detail, but he has broken his back and severed nerves, amongst other things, and is currently being treated in an orthopeodic hospital in Turin. Thankfully he is already making some progress… including standing yesterday!!!… which the doctors weren’t sure would be possible a week ago. 🙌

Dacen will be medically flown home soon and will need extensive care for the foreseeable future. He thankfully did have travel medical insurance, but there will be plenty of additional expenses. Our family friend Judith has set up a GoFundMe to help ease the financial burden.
