Maria has just shared what our HUGE mass timber project in Gallivare, Sweden is looking like today! You’re seeing the two bottom floors of this community, activity, and cultural centre, including two pools, a youth centre, gym, climbing gym, rehearsal spaces, and a bowling alley. In the timber space above you can see where a theatre, cinema, sports arena, and support spaces will be. This project will also feature a library, cafes and restaurants, and a Härden featuring local artists. We said HUGE and we meant it.

We’re so proud to be working with the City of Gallivare, MAF Arkitektkontor, and Tengbom on this truly community-changing project!

Maria has just shared what our HUGE mass timber project in Gallivare, Sweden is looking like today! A model that became a movement. The Wood Innovation and Design Centre in Prince George, BC became North America’s tallest modern wood building, a project that helped introduce mass timber to North America as a serious structural material and change the way a continent builds. Let’s keep it going!

This is what we were up to on this day 9 years ago! Looking back at this installation + collaboration we helped create for 2017

PAUSE began as an international design competition we launched to create a pavilion that questions the concept of personal space and interaction. After receiving over 60 submissions represented by 21 different countries, our jury selected Alsu Sadrieva’s submission as the overall winner. A student of the TIArch Studio at the Kazan State University of Architecture and Engineering, Sadrieva was in Vancouver for the final construction stages of the pavilion and attended the TED2017 conference as a part of the prize.

It was quite the weekend for our team working on a project in Yellowknife! 🏒

An unexpected charter flight alongside NHL legends and musicians led to an incredible fundraiser gala in Yellowknife, then continued to Great Bear Lake for a once-in-a-lifetime experience with a celebrity hockey game on the ice, celebrating the 200th anniversary of the birthplace of hockey. Despite the bitter cold and wind, communities from across the Northwest Territories came together in the spirit of true Canadian connection!

We’re grateful to have been welcomed into such a warm and vibrant community and to have shared in a truly unique moment.
