If you're a Costco member in the GTA, you're already entitled to deals on your next HVAC system that most people have no idea exist

Most people think of Costco for groceries, electronics, and those enormous bags of almonds. But here's something worth knowing: Costco has a Home Comfort program that lets members purchase and install premium Lennox HVAC systems — furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps — at exclusive member pricing, with cash back on top.

Husky Heating and Air Conditioning is Costco's authorized Home Comfort Consultant and Installer for the Greater Toronto Area. That means when you buy through the Costco program, you get Husky's 50+ years of installation expertise, NATE-certified technicians, and our full service guarantee — along with perks you simply can't get anywhere else.

Here's what Costco members get:
— 10% back as a Costco Shop Card on qualifying equipment (up to $1,000 per order)
— Executive members may qualify for an additional 2% reward on top
— Access to Lennox's premium lineup — the same equipment, the same installation, at Costco member pricing
— A free in-home consultation with no obligation to purchase

You can find us in person at three Costco locations across the GTA. Visit our kiosk, talk to one of our consultants, and walk out with a real quote before you've even left the parking lot.

Not near those locations? Call the Costco Home Installations line at 1-866-496-2032 or visit huskyair.com — if Husky is the nearest authorized installer to you, we'll come to you.

This isn't a complicated program. You're already a Costco member. Your next upgrade is closer than you think.

Every single summer, Ontario HVAC companies watch the same movie play out — and it ends the same way every time

We don't say this to be smug. We say it because after 50 years in this business, we've genuinely seen it hundreds of times and we'd rather you not be in this situation.

Here's how it goes. Homeowner notices in April that the AC "sounds a bit off." They think, it's still cool out, I'll deal with it later. May comes and goes. June 15th arrives and so does the first Environment Canada heat warning of the season — 33 degrees with humidity pushing it to 40. At 7pm, the AC stops working entirely. They call us. We tell them our next available appointment is 12 days out because every other homeowner who ignored the same signs in April is also calling us right now.

We're not making this up — HVAC companies across the GTA report the same thing every year. The first heat wave of the season triggers a wave of emergency calls that immediately exhausts available technician slots across the city. If you're not already booked in, you're at the back of the line.

What a May appointment looks like instead: one of our NATE-certified technicians comes out, runs a full tune-up on your existing system — cleaning the coils, checking refrigerant levels, testing the electrical components, inspecting the drainage. If everything's fine, great — you'll run efficiently all summer and your hydro bill will thank you. If we find something, we find it now, when parts are in stock and we have time to fix it properly, not in the middle of a heat wave at emergency-call rates.

And if your system is more than 12–15 years old, a tune-up might reveal that a new unit is actually the smarter financial move — especially given the rebates available this year (see our earlier post — up to $7,500 back through Ontario's program).

Book your tune-up or free new-system consultation now. Availability in May is good. By July, we won't be able to say the same.

Call 905-761-9485 or book online at huskyair.com. Future you will be grateful.

The thermostat used to have one job:
make the house cold.

Now? These things practically have emotional intelligence.

The newest HVAC systems coming into Canada are designed to quietly fix the stuff homeowners complain about constantly:

upstairs feels like a sauna
basement feels freezing
hydro bill looks ridiculous
somebody touched the thermostat again

Modern systems can now:

adjust airflow room by room
learn your temperature habits
control humidity automatically
monitor indoor air quality
run quieter and more efficiently

Which means your house stops feeling like four different climates fighting each other.

And honestly, that’s where HVAC is heading now. People care less about “maximum cold air” and more about comfort:
cleaner air, balanced humidity, quieter systems, better sleep, lower bills.

Your furnace and AC are becoming less like appliances and more like smart background technology that keeps the whole house comfortable without anyone thinking about it.

Curious what options make sense for your home?
Call Husky Heating & Air Conditioning for a free consultation and let’s talk about smarter comfort for your space.

2026 is officially the best year to upgrade your home's heating and cooling — and the clock is ticking

Here's something most homeowners don't know: Ontario's Home Renovation Savings Program — a joint initiative from Enbridge Gas and Save on Energy — is currently offering up to $7,500 back on a qualifying cold-climate heat pump installation. And the registration window closes May 31, 2026. That's not a sales tactic. That's a government deadline.

But it gets better. Stack that provincial rebate with the Canada Greener Homes Initiative (up to $5,000 federally), and qualifying GTA homeowners could be looking at $10,000 or more back on a system that replaces both your furnace and your air conditioner in one unit.

A heat pump isn't just an upgrade — it's a fundamentally smarter way to heat and cool your home. Instead of burning fuel to generate heat, it moves heat that already exists in the outdoor air — even in Ontario winters — into your home. In summer, it reverses the process and acts as a high-efficiency air conditioner. One system. Year-round comfort. Dramatically lower energy bills.

At Husky Heating and Air Conditioning, we've been installing these systems across the GTA since 1974. We're a Lennox Premier Dealer and authorized Costco installer. Our NATE-certified technicians handle the full installation and help you navigate every rebate you qualify for — no paperwork headaches, no surprise costs.

May is the sweet spot: availability is still good, the rebate window is open, and you'll be cool and comfortable long before the first July heat warning hits.

Free in-home consultation. Upfront pricing. No pressure. Call 905-761-9485 or visit huskyair.com.

GTA homeowners — the timing on this one is actually interesting.

US tariffs on steel, aluminum, and HVAC components are pushing equipment prices up across the board. Industry groups are warning of significant increases in 2026. If your furnace or AC is 10+ years old, waiting until next fall likely means paying more for the same system.

But here's the flip side nobody's talking about:
The 2026 Ontario Budget just expanded the Home Renovation Savings Program — more rebates, no energy audit required for a single upgrade. Enbridge Gas customers can get up to $7,700 back on a heat pump installation. And that rebate budget has a cap — it ran out before the deadline in 2023.

So right now, in the same moment that equipment prices are climbing, the government is handing back thousands of dollars to homeowners who act.

That window won't stay open forever.
Husky has been keeping GTA homes comfortable since 1974 — through oil crises, recessions, and yes, trade wars. We'll tell you honestly whether your system needs replacing, what it'll cost, what you'll get back, and what you'll save monthly.
No fluff. No pressure. Just straight talk from a family business that's been doing this for nearly 50 years.

Spring in Toronto is fake spring until further notice
Toronto weather in late March has a funny habit: one day you’re opening a window, the next day the furnace is back on like it owns the place.
That’s exactly why this is the smartest time to service your system. Not in the middle of a July heat wave. Not when the first real hot weekend hits the GTA and everyone suddenly remembers they own an air conditioner.
A spring check now helps catch the small stuff before it turns into the expensive stuff - dirty filters, tired parts, blocked outdoor units, and all the little issues winter leaves behind like an unwanted houseguest.
If your system made it through winter sounding “mostly fine,” that is not actually a technical standard.
Husky has been helping Toronto and the GTA stay comfortable since 1974. If you want your cooling system ready before the rush, now’s the time.

Rebates are finally a little less annoying
For once, there’s some rebate news in Ontario that homeowners can actually use.
Ontario homeowners - this is one of those rare moments where a rebate is actually worth paying attention to.
The Home Renovation Savings Program (through Enbridge Gas and Save on Energy) is offering real money back for upgrading to a heat pump. We’re talking up to $7,500 for cold climate air source systems and up to $12,000 for ground source (geothermal).
Who qualifies?
You need to own your home (detached, semi, townhouse, etc.)
Be an Enbridge Gas customer or connected to Ontario’s electricity grid
It has to be a first-time heat pump installation
The system must be on the approved Natural Resources Canada list
One big change this year - if you’re installing just a heat pump, you may not need a full energy audit anymore. That alone saves you a few hundred dollars upfront.
How to actually get the rebate (this is where most people get stuck):
Choose an eligible heat pump system
Work with a qualified contractor
Apply through the Home Renovation Savings Program (Enbridge / Save on Energy)
Complete installation and submit required documentation
That’s the official process. In reality, most homeowners want someone to just handle it properly and not miss money on paperwork.
And that’s where we come in.
At Husky, we help you:
Pick the right system (not just the one with the biggest rebate)
Make sure it qualifies
Walk you through or handle the rebate process
Install it properly so it actually performs the way it should
Bottom line - if your current system is aging, inefficient, or costing you too much to run, this is one of the best windows to upgrade.
Because rebates come and go.
But being stuck without heating or cooling at the wrong time always shows up right on schedule.

April 1st idea - but this one’s not a joke.

“Good news - your AC will definitely last another summer.”
Said no technician who’s seen a July breakdown.

Every year in Toronto, it plays out the same way. The first real heat wave hits, and suddenly your AC decides it’s done participating in society.

If your system is older, struggling, or running on outdated refrigerant, waiting is a gamble. And not the fun kind. Between equipment changes and rising costs, last-minute replacements always hit harder.

A preseason check? Not exciting.
No cooling during a humid GTA heat wave? Very memorable. Very fast.

At Husky, we help you figure it out before it becomes urgent - repair it, replace it, or leave it alone if it’s actually fine.

Comfort shouldn’t depend on luck.
Especially not when the house hits 26 and everyone starts blaming each other.

Don’t wait for your AC to quit mid-July. Book a check with Husky now and avoid the drama later.

Too Late for Furnace. Too Early for AC.
Perfect Time to Talk Water Heaters.

March is that in-between month.

Heating season is winding down. Cooling season hasn’t started. It feels like there’s nothing urgent to think about.

Except there is one system you use every single day of the year.

Your water heater.

Hot showers. Laundry. Dishes. Kids. Guests. You don’t notice it - until you really notice it.

If your water heater is:

- 10+ years old
- Running out of hot water
- Making rumbling noises
- Leaking around the base
- Driving up your gas bill

It might be time to upgrade before it fails at the worst possible moment.

At Husky, we carry high-efficiency solutions from Rinnai - a trusted leader in tankless water heating. Endless hot water. Lower energy consumption. Compact design. Built to last.

And unlike furnaces or AC systems, there’s no “season” for hot water. You need it 365 days a year.

March is actually the perfect time to replace it calmly - before you’re standing in a cold shower wondering what just happened.

If you’re not sure how much life your water heater has left, we’ll give you a straight answer.

That’s how we’ve been doing it since 1974.

All That Snow Is About to Melt… Is Your HVAC Ready?

Toronto winter gave us snow. A lot of it.

Now comes the part nobody thinks about - the melt.

As temperatures rise over the next few weeks, all that snow turns into water. And water has a way of finding places it shouldn’t be.

Here’s what to watch for:

• Make sure your outdoor AC unit isn’t buried or surrounded by packed snow and ice. As it melts, water pooling around the base can cause long-term issues.
• Check that your furnace exhaust and intake pipes are fully clear. Blocked vents can lead to serious performance problems.
• Watch your basement. Rapid snow melt combined with frozen ground can increase the risk of water intrusion near mechanical systems.
• Clear debris around outdoor equipment so proper drainage can happen.

A few minutes of prevention now can save you a service call later.

If you’re unsure whether your system is safe after this winter, we’re happy to take a look. Better to check now than deal with surprises in April.
