🎃 Pumpkin Carving Contest Results Are In! 🎃

This week, we handed out pumpkins to our team and challenged everyone to bring their creativity to life. The results were incredible!

From spooky masterpieces to creative works of art, our staff showed off some serious carving talent. Every pumpkin was entered into our office carving contest, and after much deliberation, we selected our top three winners. 🏆

Congratulations to our winners, and a huge thank you to everyone who participated. While only three could take home the prizes, every entry brought personality, creativity, and Halloween spirit to the workplace.

At Van Isle Windows, it's the people who make this such a great place to work, and seeing everyone come together for a little friendly competition reminds us why we have such an amazing team.

Ahoy, mateys! Today's Fenton Friday brought a little extra Halloween spirit to the office as Fenton arrived dressed as a pirate! 🏴‍☠️

With his pirate hat, costume, and of course his one eye, Captain Fenton has been sailing through the office spreading smiles and keeping the crew entertained all day long. 😊

There's no treasure we'd rather have than seeing our team start the day with a laugh, and Fenton delivered once again!

Meet Fenton, our favorite office pup! Every Friday, Fenton makes his rounds through the Van Isle Windows Victoria office, stopping by to visit the staff and spread a little extra happiness along the way.

Whether he's looking for belly rubs, checking in on the team, or simply brightening everyone's day with his wagging tail, Fenton never fails to put a smile on our faces. His weekly visits have become a highlight of the week and a reminder that sometimes the best coworker is the one with four legs!

Last stop on the fall circuit, the Cowichan Valley. The Cowichan Valley Fall Home Show runs October 23 to 25 at the Cowichan Exhibition Grounds in Duncan.

It's the show's 32nd year, admission and parking are free, and our team will be there to wrap up the season talking windows and doors.

The question we get asked most often is what install day is actually like, usually because people are picturing a week of their house being torn apart.

Here is the real version. The crew arrives in the morning, moves furniture back from the windows and covers your floors. Openings are done one at a time, so the house is never standing open. The old units go out to the truck, the new ones go in, and everything gets swept up before the crew leaves. Most homes are finished in a single day and the furniture is back where it started by dinner.

We'll be at the Victoria Fall Home Show October 16 to 18 at the Pearkes Rec Centre Fieldhouse, and this year it's the show's 40th anniversary.

We've been building windows in Victoria since 1978, so this one always means a lot to us. Come find the team, talk windows and doors, and enjoy free admission and parking. Note the later Friday hours, doors are open until 8pm that night.

Every fall we start getting calls about foggy windows, and the fix depends entirely on where the moisture is sitting. If it is on the inside surface of the glass and you can wipe it away, that is humidity in your home.

Run the bathroom fan, crack a window while you cook, and it usually settles down. If the fog is trapped between the panes and no amount of wiping touches it, the seal on that unit has failed and the insulating gas is gone. That one needs replacing, and in a lot of cases it is a single unit swap rather than the whole window.
