🌱Are you looking for something to replace your invasive periwinkle, goutw**d or woodruff with?

Look no further! White snakeroot (Ageratina altissima) brightens up shady spaces, grows well among trees, and spreads without becoming too aggressive.

Blooming now and continuing through the fall months. We have 4" pots and 6-plant snails available. Grab 'em while you can!

* note - if any of your kids or pets love to eat plants, this one is toxic so you might want to avoid it.

What starts out as the perfect plant to cover large areas in your garden can quickly become a massive problem. Goutw**d is in aggressive invasive species that can overtake your garden, turn up in unexpected areas in your yard, and spread onto neighbouring properties. Improper disposal can also introduce goutw**d into natural areas, where it spreads aggressively and can crowd out native plants, reducing biodiversity.

Why spend money fighting plants that we planted ourselves?

Join Halton Hills in urging the government to expand the list of prohibited species that can be sold in the horticulture trade. Prevention costs less than management!

Could this be the start of a movement that finally tackles invasive species at the source?

One of my favourite gardens in the city - it was transformed from lawn to woodchips to native plants. Now you can find tiny neighbours like this swallowtail butterfly caterpillar munching on golden Alexanders, even as cars and busses pass nearby and amidst the noise of a bustling city.

Can't get enough of these beautiful maidenhair ferns! 😍

They're happiest in a part shade to mostly shade setting, with well draining moist soil. A fern from deciduous forests, they appreciate a nice layer of fallen leaves for winter protection and a source of nutrients.

I love to add them along the edge of a pathway, so you can really appreciate their structure and beauty!
