Removed the bullnose off the porch, grinded the surface and applied a concrete stain and sealer.
We also removed the brick and replaced it with a Shouldice Stone Blend.

The name "Texas" originates from the Caddo Native American word táyshaʼ (or teyshas), which means "friends" or "allies". Spanish explorers recorded this term in the late 17th century as Tejas or Texas to describe the Caddo people in East Texas, which later became the name of the province.

Key details regarding the origin:

Caddo Origin: The term referred to a confederacy of tribes (the Hasinai) who used it to greet Spanish friar Damián Massanet, signifying their alliance.

Spanish Interpretation:

Early Spanish explorers, particularly on the 1689 expedition, used the word to describe the people and later applied it to the region, according to the Texas State Historical Association.
Evolution of Spelling: Tejas or Teyshas was adapted by Spanish and later American settlers into the modern spelling "Texas," which is used in the state's motto, "Friendship".
