Despite the temperatures starting to rise, we can't yet get rid of these snowfalls and cool nights. If you notice your home temperature starting to drop, here are some things you can do:

⚡️ Check your thermostat. With this heavy and wet snow, power fluctuations are bound to happen. If the power cuts out, your thermostat can default to an off position. Make sure to set the thermostat to HEAT or AUTO to ensure your furnace is called upon to heat your home.

🧹 Check your filter. Sometimes a dirty filter may not appear dirty at all! Fine dust particles, invisible to the human eye, can stuff up a filter and stop the furnace from getting the air it needs. Make sure to regularly check and change your filter to prevent this issue altogether. If you notice a dust build-up on your filter, it's best to change it right away!

❄️ Check your intake and exhaust vents outside. With heavy snow falls, the airflow vents leading outside your home may get covered with snow, stopping furnace operation entirely. Be sure to keep these vents unobstructed to maintain proper furnace operation.
