Ok… I Googled “Rosa Lea Art” and apparently Google has been paying attention. 😂🌹

It described me as a British Canal Art artist creating hand-painted work in the traditional Roses and Castles style, preserving an endangered heritage craft, creating artwork and gifts, and running creative workshops.

And I have to admit… I had a little moment. 🥹🎨 👩🏽‍🎨

Because when I started sharing my Canal Art, I simply wanted more people to discover this colourful part of British waterways history.

Now Google is joining the dots between my artwork, workshops, Etsy shop, social media and the heritage story behind it all.

That feels like a lovely little reminder that consistency does eventually leave footprints. 🌹

So yes Google… I’ll take that description. 😂

Everything is nearly ready for this Saturday’s Summer Canal Art Workshop at The Minories in Colchester 🌹🎨

This is the beautiful Canal Art rose design I’ll be teaching step by step, and there are now just 3 places remaining.

If you’ve been thinking, “I’d love to try that, but I wouldn’t know where to start”, please don’t let that stop you. This workshop is designed with beginners in mind, and I’ll guide you through the painting process from start to finish. 🌹

Hello to all my new followers 👋🏽🌹

I’m also known as Rosa Lea, a Canal Art artist, workshop host and creative educator.

At the heart of what I do is traditional British Canal Art, especially the colourful Roses and Castles style once painted on working narrowboats. It’s now considered an endangered heritage craft, and I’m passionate about helping more people discover it, learn it and keep it visible. 🎨❤️

Through my workshops, creative resources and Canal Art inspired products, I create relaxed ways for adults and children to explore creativity, often starting with the words, “But I can’t paint!” 🤣🌹

My business has been growing quite a bit lately, and I’ve recently launched my new website, which is becoming the home for everything Rosa Lea. Workshops, learning, shopping and plenty more colour still to come. ✨

A little throwback to one of my in-person Paint a Mug with Rosa sessions 🌹🎨

This is one of my favourite parts of teaching. That moment when everyone looks around at what they’ve created and realises, “I actually did that!” 💖

Different styles, different personalities and absolutely no need to arrive believing you’re an artist.

I’ve been looking back at some of my previous workshops as I prepare for my next Canal Art workshop in Colchester, and this made me smile. 😊🌹

There’s something rather lovely about getting a group of people around a table, putting the everyday world on mute for a few hours, and simply painting together.

This is why I love teaching. 🎨

New week, fresh energy and I’m back in my happy place surrounded by paint, brushes and Canal Art roses 🎨🌹

The Summer August Canal Art workshop is now only 12 days away and it’s starting to feel very real.
