-tsuri is a traditional Japanese winter technique used to protect tree branches from breaking under heavy snow. Kanazawa is one of the snowiest cities in Japan, so the trees—especially the large, spreading pines—need support. On one of my last days in Japan with my best travel mate , on a stroll in Kenroku-en Garden, that is considered on of Japan’s three most beautiful public gardens, we passed these trees and the resemblance to a piece of also structural and artistic installation struck me:

has always been on top only bucket list. This summer our very unique bookclub was very fortunate to all be invited by a basque member to come and stay in her amazing apartment renovated by her architect husband with a view of the whole bay of . It was an amazing trip, so many impressions, 15.000 steps in average per day, never an idle moment and very difficult to boil down to a few photos, but I find the Basque soul of liberation is mirrored profoundly in the political freedom statements etched in the sand and reflected in the spirit of the fashion designer , the sculpture and artist , the architectural visions of and contributing to a rich tapestry of cultural identity and resistance. Thank you Agatha, Darja and Carmen for making it happen -

Staying at the beautiful in in . The Salento born architect Claudio Colaci and Belgian born Interior Design Consultant Vincent De Cat got “carte blanche” to realize the project.
