Campo anchors a new art neighborhood along the Eulach river, developed to house the extensive archives of a prolific if eccentric collector. The foundation created after his death aims to actively integrate art into the life of the neighborhood, making the collection part of everyday experience.

The Art Hub forms the heart of the development: a long central hall that organizes production, exchange, and exhibition. Six surrounding mixed-use buildings are connected by elevated passages, creating a porous network and offering views into the life and activities of the hall.

As we turn the corner into the new year, we are happy to share milestones from a year of growth, productivity, and renewal.

We started several new projects spanning from a single-family house to a new campus for high-performance sports, submitted three projects for permitting, and restarted a dormant housing project. Project sites range from dense urban brownfields to idyllic villages, giving us the privilege of working in diverse contexts.

Now in full use for two semesters, Rice University Cannady Hall expands the pedagogical and research infrastructure of the architecture school and has been featured in a number of publications and awards.

With these highlights and lots of gratitude, we wish you a restful winter break, and a great start to the new year.

An urban anchor in the center of Mett, the project is a shapeshifter, addressing the different scales of its context while marking a clear presence.

Towards the city center, it stands proud as a 14-storey tower that steps down to a 7-storey mid-rise along the main street and a 3-storey low-rise at the new piazza.

Riffing off a history of iconic beds, from Adolf and Lina Loos’ bo***ir to Yoko Ono and John Lennon’s bed-in protests to the Pestana traditions of Romanian houses, the installation takes artist talks out of the typical frontal format and into the intimacy and vulnerability of the bed.

Covered in plush sheepskin and Romanian artisanal throws, the bed stands in the middle of the space, dimmed except for one gentle light above, turning the entrance hall into an event space.

A system of timber barrel vaults distinguishes the classroom levels from the rest of the program below. The structural roof unifies the individual class with the collective scale of the school, within an organizational field.

The building is composed of five radically different apartments housed under the guise of a single villa.

A gable roof profile allows the house to blend into its context while maximizing the buildable envelope. From a distance, it reads as a familiar form. Upon closer examination, the irregular windows stands out, a composition that blurs the lines between units.

A contemporary interpretation of the “core and shell” construction, the project proposes a performative façade that regulates comfort while providing stronger connections to the outside.

The tower straddles a railway embankment at a busy intersection to mark the entry to the densifying neighborhood in Zurich’s north.
