BLUM-Neuinterpretation Blumenpavillon einschl. Verbindungsbauten
The reinterpretation of the : the Blumenpavillon and the Vermehrungshaus, including the connecting corridors, is based on the historical geometry, as evidenced by the exposed existing foundations of the original buildings.
The various individual structures are consolidated into a single building or building ensemble. The heterogeneous building volumes are unified by a continuous eaves line at the same height, creating a harmonized overall appearance. The low height of the eaves is derived from the height of the connecting door to the Oberhaus.
The finished floor level (OKFF) for the new buildings is taken from the Blue House and is maintained across all new elements.
The connection from the Blumenpavillon to the Oberhaus is made directly through the first corridor. The Vermehrungshaus is also connected to the Blumenpavillon via a corridor. These corridors adopt the eaves line of the adjacent building sections. The front edge of the Vermehrungshaus roof extends to just in front of the outer wall of the Blue House, forming a kind of covered “forecourt” and access area, without establishing a direct structural connection. This “forecourt” connects not only the buildings but also the café garden and the perennial nursery.
