MEIXNER SCHLÜTER WENDT was established in 1997 in Frankfurt/Main by its partners Claudia Meixner, Florian Schlüter and Martin Wendt. The team currently consists of some 40 architects who, depending on the assignments they are working on, are assisted by a wide network of external specialists and expert planners. The team develops project-specific solutions that take the respective contextual param

eters firmly into account. Before planning starts, intense research is conducted into the given conditions and factors. Complex concepts are then developed through feasibility studies, competitions and projects with a view to reflecting on the space activating it for perception and social interaction. The architecture practice’s activities embrace conceptualization, planning, and the realization of architectural projects of all types and sizes: Urban structures, single-family dwellings, residential and office buildings - also as high-rises, hotels, educational buildings such as schools and daycare centers, cultural buildings, churches, exhibitions and spatial installations. MEIXNER SCHLÜTER WENDT’s designs have received numerous national and international awards and has been the subject of numerous exhibitions, for example, at the Venice Architecture Biennales in 2004, 2006 and 2012.

It was a pleasure to be part of Extremos, the 14th International Architecture Biennial of São Paulo, which focused on the theme of advancing climate change. We are very happy about the impressions we gathered and the great feedback!

The finished floor painting on Ettinghausenplatz reveals the layers of history hidden beneath the ground, in particular the floor plan of the former synagogue.
We are now looking forward to the next steps in the redesign of Ettinghausenplatz in the coming year.

The redesign of the historically significant Ettinghausenplatz in Frankfurt-Höchst has begun!
The square has a long and eventful history that is of great importance to Höchst. It was once the site of the city wall, a defensive tower, a porcelain waste pit, and finally the seat of the Höchst synagogue. Its second new building was set on fire on November 9, 1938, and in the days that followed during the so-called Reichspogromnacht.
The first step is to create a floor painting that shows the floor plan of the former synagogue, but also reveals the other historical layers.
On the occasion of the commemoration of Reichspogromnacht, the floor painting on Ettinghausenplatz will be presented this coming Sunday (November 9, 2025, 6 p.m.) as the first phase of the redesign.

The building concept of the Atreeum is based on the principle of a traditional Moroccan riad, which forms a protective wall on the outside and lively, differentiated green atriums on the inside.
Paired with a state of the art sustainability concept this forms a green working oasis in an urban context.
