“I began this work as an attempt to externalize anxiety—
to move it out of the body and into form.

What emerged is layered, dense, and chromatically intense;
a surface where tension, repetition, and fragmentation coexist.

Your independence is a quiet rebellion against my holding,
and I stand in awe of it —
terrified, proud, undone.

In a foreign land,
in a body that remembers and forgets at the same time,
I search for myself in fragments —
in color, in texture, in the raw language of my art.

This is part of my new journey —
my journey of becoming…
and you are at the heart of it all. ✨

Pia Pia 🐾🕊️

She asked for cats.
Then birds.
Then “big, Mama… and Nunu too.”

At the beginning, her little hands made the first lines—
and her touch lives all over this painting,
woven into every mark.

So I painted her world the way she sees it—
alive, loud, a little wild,
full of tiny voices that matter.

This is how love sounds in her language:
colors crossing, creatures watching,
everything connected.
