The Audi Urban Future Initiative aims to establish a dialog on the synergy of mobility, architecture and urban development by means of a view into the future. Where, how and from what does the urban future emerge? With respect to future mobility, what might the contribution of a company like Audi be? What might that of an advanced architecture be? The Audi Urban Future Initiative raises questions

like this in order to develop new perspectives for the sustainable city of the future. The results from it are intended to flow into the work of the Audi company. The interaction of mobility, architecture and urban planning is at the heart of this interdisciplinary exchange. The Audi Urban Future Initiative was established by Audi and is curated by Stylepark.

Allgemeine Information

Establishing a network between external and internal experts, the Audi Urban Future Initiative currently comprises four elements: The ‘Award’ is a lucrative biannual architecture and urban development competition, first presented to Jürgen Mayer H. during the 2010 Architecture Biennale in Venice for his outstanding concept of a networked city. The second component are ‘Workshops’, which strives to stimulate new ideas, bring experts together to share knowledge and open up public debate. The initiative’s third pillar is the ‘Insight Team’, an inter-departmental think tank dedicated to urban mobility, which serves as a channel for discussion and ideas to flow into and out of the company. The ‘Research’ element represents the newest addition. Pairing up local markets with the most visionary research institutions worldwide, it will provide an academic foundation for future mobility scenarios and, together with the other components, ultimately create a rich ecosystem of global knowledge on mobility.
