I created this tunic many years ago, inspired by my love for Mexico — a love that I feel stronger today than ever before.
And for this reason, I want to introduce this special tunic to you once again.

The warm tones are inspired by the earth and the sun that shape the landscapes of Mexico. The vibrant pink color comes from natural dyeing with Palo de Brasil, while the appliqués in different warm shades make every piece unique.

By using small leftover fabric pieces for these details, we can create more consciously and help ensure that almost no fabric goes to waste.

Tejer una mochila es resistir. Es una resistencia silenciosa, cotidiana, que ocurre en varios niveles al mismo tiempo.

Es resistir al olvido
En un mundo que empuja hacia lo rápido y lo industrial, el tejido mantiene vivos saberes ancestrales. Cada mochila guarda historias, símbolos y formas de ver el mundo que no están escritas en libros, sino en las manos.

Es resistir a la explotación de la tierra
El acto de tejer está ligado a una relación respetuosa con la naturaleza: fibras, tintes, tiempos. Frente a un sistema extractivista, es una práctica que honra los ritmos de la tierra en lugar de forzarlos.

Es resistir a la fragmentación social
Tejer no suele ser un acto aislado. Es un espacio de encuentro entre mujeres donde se transmiten conocimientos, se comparten experiencias y se fortalece lo colectivo en lugar de lo individual. Muchas muchas gracias a .hooked y por organizar ese taller tan hermoso!
