Umbra Orchard transforms a site constraint into the catalyst for its design evolution. A high-tension electrical corridor cutting diagonally across the 153.65-acre site is reimagined as a continuous green spine, allowing infrastructure and landscape to coexist. Fluid, organic landscape forms soften its presence while creating a cohesive ecological identity. Inspired by a living orchard, themed residential pockets strengthen the relationship between residents, nature, and everyday life.
The diagonal corridor becomes the primary organizing element of the masterplan, anchoring recreation, ecology, and community life. Sports zones, wellness landscapes, forest trails, waterfront experiences, and gathering spaces are woven into a connected recreational network, reinforced by water systems and green infrastructure that establish a layered public realm.
Positioned at the beginning of this landscape spine, the clubhouse acts as the social heart of Umbra Orchard. Conceived as a fluid landform integrated with the terrain, it brings together wellness, recreation, and social amenities, serving as both a landmark and a transition between public spaces and private residential neighborhoods.

Set within an open landscape, the project is conceived as a porous civic campus where architecture and landscape merge to create a fluid public experience. Rather than functioning as a singular enclosed structure, the convention centre unfolds as a fluid interconnected built form with spaces that encourage movement, gathering, and interaction.

The design brief called for a flexible and multifunctional event infrastructure capable of accommodating exhibitions, conferences, and public programs within a unified framework. This led to a centralized planning strategy where multiple programmatic zones radiate from a shared foyer and gathering space, creating visual connectivity and intuitive circulation throughout the site.

ICONIC SKYLINE & CANAL LEISURE-EXPERIENCE

The project introduces a series of cultural institutions that collectively define a new skyline for the city. Anchored by a signature bridge over the lake, which is a key built element that connects with a science museum at one end, and a multifunctional theatre, art & craft museum and conference centre on another side of the bridge. Strategically positioned to create a strong visual, cultural identity, while framing the signature bridge and becoming an iconic view. Further, connecting the theatre and convention centre directly to the city side for easy accessibility.

Complementing this is a series of experience, hospitality and lifestyle experiences embedded within the masterplan. A boutique hotel with cascading pools overlooking the lake, offering a more intimate and immersive engagement with the water’s edge. This is further extended through a nature resort that allows for a quieter retreat within the larger public framework. A high-end design and retail complex, inspired by Hyderabad’s legacy of pearls, introduces a refined commercial layer, translating local cultural identity into a contemporary spatial experience.

A secondary layer of experience unfolds along the canal edge, conceived as a vibrant leisure corridor. This zone integrates retail, dining, and entertainment within a stepped landscape that negotiates level differences through terraces and platforms. The canal becomes an active social spine that is lined with cafés, breweries, and public spaces that extend into the landscape. Walkways interspersed with greenery create a porous edge, blurring the boundary between built and natural environments.

Set within the evolving urban fabric of Hyderabad, the regeneration of Durgam Cheruvu reimagines the lake as a performative urban landscape that is an immersive oasis aiming to reconnect the city with its ecological and geological roots. Conceived as a dialogue between nature and urban life, the project transforms an underutilized natural asset into a vibrant public realm that enables recreation, culture, and collective experience. At its core, the intervention is driven by the idea that design must emerge from the site itself, responding to its terrain, water systems, and existing biodiversity to create a seamless integration between the built and the natural.

Envisioned as an inclusive destination, the project caters to a diverse user base, from millennials and Gen Z to families and tourists. A layered mix of cultural, recreational, and social programs ensures activity throughout the day and into the evening, with high-energy attractions balanced by quieter, contemplative spaces. These programmatic anchors are distributed across the site to create a dynamic and consistently active public realm.

The site is defined by a rare confluence of natural elements, such as dramatic rock formations, expansive waterfront edges, panoramic lake views, and dense green cover, with a signature bridge that is a key landmark of Hyderabad. These attributes establish a strong ecological and visual identity, positioning the lake as a latent urban asset within the city.

Rather than imposing a new order, the masterplan works with these existing systems, preserving and amplifying the natural character of the site. The landscape becomes the primary framework, guiding spatial organization, movement, and program distribution.

ASHTECH is envisioned as a contemporary residential development structured around a carefully orchestrated masterplan that redefines high-density living through a seamless integration of architecture and landscape. Conceived as a vertical community, the project is organized as a connected urban framework where built form, open spaces, and amenities are woven into a cohesive whole, placing nature at the core of everyday life.
The masterplan is structured as a pixelated, resort-inspired landscape, with residential blocks arranged along the periphery to release the heart of the site as a continuous open realm. Shared amenities are embedded within this central zone, forming a primary spatial framework that links recreational areas and the clubhouse through layered courts, water bodies, and gardens. Rather than a singular open space, the landscape is articulated into smaller, human-scaled pixels that enable fluid movement, visual continuity, and activity across the development, balancing density with openness.
At the centre of this landscape, the clubhouse is conceived as an extension of the terrain itself. Emerging from layered greens and water bodies, it is organized as a vertically layered social hub with leisure, fitness, dining, and recreational spaces distributed across stepped terraces and decks. Generous overhangs create sheltered outdoor zones and visual continuity across levels, establishing the clubhouse as the primary communal anchor.
The residential towers rise as elegant vertical forms, articulated through a facade system driven by performative principles. Vertical fins regulate light, shade, and facade depth, reinforcing a clear architectural identity and a legible skyline presence. At the upper levels, the towers resolve into a carefully articulated crown with contoured roof forms and elevated terraces, completing the vertical composition while reinforcing the project’s urban identity.

Studio Symbiosis, as Principal Architects have translated Elie Saab’s couture sensibility into architecture, interpreting the atelier’s timeless elegance, refined craftsmanship, and quiet luxury through spatial composition, proportion, and material expression. With carefully tailored master plans for both locations, M3M × Elie Saab Gurugram rises as an expression of vertical elegance within M3M’s 250-acre SCDA, offering privacy, panoramic views, and a distinctly elevated living experience. In contrast, Smart World × Elie Saab Noida integrates multi-level retail, curated dining, and landscaped open spaces to form a dynamic urban podium, with retail & F&B zones lining the site’s front across the Ground, First, and Second floors to create a vibrant social interface. Above this active base, the private residential realm is elevated for exclusivity, opening to unobstructed skyline views to expansive Golf course at the rear and expressway with a view of the Yamuna River at the front.

Elie Saab debuts in India, marks a refined convergence of haute couture and architecture, establishing a new benchmark in understated luxury living. M3M × Elie Saab, Gurugram within M3M’s 250-acre SCDA, and Smart World × Elie Saab, Noida set within a 6-acre master plan, translate the maison’s couture legacy into built form.
As Principal Architects for both developments, Studio Symbiosis interprets Elie Saab’s timeless elegance, precision, and quiet luxury through spatial composition, proportion, and material expression. The project rises as an expression of vertical elegance, offering privacy and panoramic views at Dwarka expressway. In Noida, a layered urban podium integrates retail, dining, and landscaped spaces, elevating the private residential realm above an active social base with expansive views of the golf course, expressway, and Yamuna River.
Across both projects, amenities are centrally positioned to connect residents with landscaped environments while preserving exclusivity. Interiors and architecture draw from Elie Saab’s design language, expressed through bespoke materials, couture-inspired lighting, and fluid façades, free-flowing and refined, echoing the grace of haute couture. The result is a quietly luxurious residential experience, balancing architectural intelligence with elegance and restraint.
