Are you cold in certain parts of your older German house? Perhaps using more heating oil/gas than you want to be?

Look what we found behind a customer's wood paneled wintergarden ceiling (1999 construction). No insulation - just wood and directly above, the uninsulated roof!

The fix? A nice thick layer of glass wool, a v***r barrier, and an attractive new drywall ceiling with modern spotlights.

Okay, not all the upgrades were purely functional, but why not update the whole room while we're at it?

Will update later this week after we've painted the ceilings and walls.

Dear Customers,

The shorter winter days are here, and you may be enjoying more time inside your home. Sometimes we discover that our homes are not as beautiful or functional as they could be.

Here are some before and after photos of a recent partial bathroom update, still in progress. We are replacing the inward-opening door with a sliding barn door outside the bathroom. This allowed us to enlarge the shower. We also modernized the floor and shower tiles.

Mold got you down? If German houses aren't properly aired out and/or heated, the walls and ceilings can get moldy, which irritates your lungs and aggravates both you and your landlord!

You can clean the mold off with mold remover - be careful to follow the directions - and then repaint. It's best to stir an anti-mold additive into the new paint.

In some extreme cases, you may need to remove the affected wallpaper or plaster.

Call Lend a Hand if you need help! We will give you a free estimate and we never do more work than absolutely necessary. Here are some before and after pictures of a recent job. Our customer was very happy with our price, and the landlord was very pleased!
