Aftab Commercial & Cultural Complex, Arak, Iran.
Designed by A.P.Pars Architects under Farhad Mirzaie .mirzaie , this project brings retail and cultural functions together in the heart of Arak, shaping a contemporary urban landmark rooted in everyday civic life. The complex is described as a response to the city’s evolving identity, creating a shared destination for commerce, gathering, and cultural exchange.

What stands out most is the façade: a sculptural composition of deep arches, carved voids, and flowing corner geometries, wrapped in a finely textured brick skin. The turquoise-toned recessed surfaces add contrast and depth, giving the building a strong dialogue between Iranian architectural memory and a more contemporary formal language.

Tag der Architektur 2025: Vielfalt Bauen erleben

Am Samstag, den 28. und Sonntag, den 29. Juni 2025 laden alle 16 Länderkammern zum bundesweiten Tag der Architektur ein. Unter dem Motto „Vielfalt Bauen“ öffnen sich an diesem Wochenende die Türen zu über 1.000 Veranstaltungen in ganz Deutschland.

Interessierte haben die Gelegenheit, die Arbeit von Planerinnen und Planern aller Fachrichtungen hautnah zu erleben. Ob geführte Rundgänge durch Gebäude, Parkanlagen oder Stadtquartiere – die Veranstaltungen bieten spannende Einblicke in Architektur und Stadtentwicklung. Zahlreiche Bauten, die sonst nicht öffentlich zugänglich sind, können besichtigt werden, und viele Architekturbüros gewähren einen Blick hinter die Kulissen.

🏗️ The UIA 2030 Award is back for its third cycle!

Launched in partnership with UN-Habitat and the UIA - International Union of Architects, the award celebrates built projects that show how architecture can drive progress on the Sustainable Development Goals—from clean water and decent work to housing, climate action, and public space.

📣 Architects worldwide are invited to submit completed and occupied projects (1–5 years old) that demonstrate:
• Design excellence
• Measurable SDG impact
• Holistic and inclusive approaches across the project lifecycle

🏆 Entries will be judged across six categories linked to SDGs 6, 8, 11, and 13. Regional finalists will be promoted globally, and category winners will be awarded during the 13th World Urban Forum in Baku (18–22 May 2026).
