UTZONIA: Angela Gigliotti and Troels Rugbjerg have edited a publication which explores links between the welfare state and Jørn Utzon's practice.

The publication presents and analyzes a series of projects carried out by Utzon during the second half of the twentieth century. Each of these is interpreted through a set of infographics that offer a critical perspective on “welfare state architecture” and its politico-ideological implications.

Utzonia è un libro che, come suggerisce il titolo, è la rappresentazione visionaria di una città utopistica.

Sorry for our silence, but we have been tempted by instagram, so if you want to recover a year of U67 you better drop by https://www.instagram.com/officeu67/

If you are in Rome next week and want to drop by Accademia di Danimarca - Det Danske Institut i Rom our very own Angela Gigliotti is co-organizing with Erik Sporon Fiedler a series of lectures titled “North/South: architectural and economic reflections”.

The scope is to tackle the relevance of architectural and economic exchanges between Nordic and Mediterranean context. The series will unfold four reflections: (1) about the Kay Fisker’s architectural production and the relevance of such known Danish architect for contemporary architects in South Europe; (2) about the idea of a Southern Spirit of Capitalism; (3) about the thinking and rethinking of debt in the wake of a decade of crises; (4) about a re-consideration of dominant masters in architectural discourse, focusing on the Jørn Utzon’s cross-borders projects and questioning Nordic canons in architectural history and theory.

About us

U67 is the common ground of Fabio Gigone and Angela Gigliotti. We want to collect and share experiences related to design topics. We are involved in a multidisciplinary activity where the project deals each time with a new issue to produce unexpected outcomes. We deal with the project through different scales, preferring the drawing as a knowledge tool. We believe in the representation of architecture as the first move towards the construction of a space. Each project is a way to reveal possibilities towards different points of view, a vision that includes collective knowledge and beauty.
