Every. Single. Paving stone. at Sluseholmen Metro Plaza was carefully considered.

This paved surface is the result of meticulous design and ex*****on. The paving was developed block by block, allowing the pattern to adapt seamlessly to changing zones, edges, and accessibility guidance strips without cutting stones.

Take a look at the complexity behind the design process from Kragh Berglund’s Emma Fugl. Rather than illustrating the paving as a surface pattern, she mapped every individual paving stone, documenting how each unit was positioned to resolve transitions, alignments, and technical requirements across the plaza.

This creates a cleaner, more durable surface while showcasing the craftsmanship behind the project. The paving pattern helps unify the station square with surrounding public space and encourage movement flows.
The result is a plaza where technical requirements and design ambitions meet, right down to the last paving stone.

Finally, the plants are in place at all the new Green Schoolyards!

Last week, the Stockholm office from Kragh Berglund visited Snösätraskolan to see how the landscape is already sprouting and growing. Watching these spaces come to life has been incredibly rewarding.

The Green Schoolyards project focuses on transforming schoolyards into greener, more engaging outdoor environments for learning, play, movement, and everyday encounters. A key part of the process has also been involving students in shaping ideas for their future school environments.

It has been a privilege to work on the design of these schoolyard projects and, together with so many clever and creative students, turn ideas into greener, more inspiring places to learn and play. 🌿

Asnæs Station has been inaugurated!

A station is more than infrastructure. It is arrival and departure, waiting and movement, an everyday meeting point.

With the inauguration of the renewed public space at Asnæs Station, a former transit landscape has been reworked into a place for staying. The project strengthens safety, accessibility, and social life while supporting a stronger connection between station, town, and community.

Working from what was already there, the design brings together reused materials, planting, light, and colorful places to pause into a coherent landscape that invites both movement and presence. Local young people provided poems that are worked into the square, creating value in an ordinary but important place.

Se vores bud på udviklingen af Nordkajen i Vejle og Syddansk Universitets nye campus!

Forslaget er udarbejdet i samarbejde med . Selvom det ikke blev os, der løb med sejren denne gang, er vi stolte af at have opnået en flot 2. plads og de fine ord fra dommerkomitéen.

Projektet tager afsæt i Vejles særlige placering mellem fjord og de grønne dalsider og arbejder med at binde by og vand tættere sammen igen. Forslaget bygger videre på havnens eksisterende strukturer og industrielle historie, hvor eksisterende bygninger kan transformeres til nye funktioner og skabe grundlag for et levende og mangfoldigt byliv fra dag ét.

Centralt i udviklingen står nye campus, tænkt som et åbent og aktivt samlingspunkt for viden, tech og iværksætteri med stærke forbindelser til byen, havnen og det omkringliggende landskab.

Vi ønsker , , og stort tillykke med vinderforslaget og ser frem til at følge det spændende arbejde med at udvikle Vejles tidligere industrihavn.

See our proposal for the development of Nordkajen in Vejle and the new campus of the University of Southern Denmark!

The proposal was developed in collaboration with Holscher Nordberg. Although we didn’t take the win this time, we are proud to have achieved a strong second place and to receive such positive feedback from the judging committee.

The project is rooted in Vejle’s unique setting between the fjord and the green valley slopes, aiming to reconnect the city and the waterfront. The proposal builds on the harbor’s existing structures and industrial heritage, allowing existing buildings to be transformed into new functions and creating the foundation for a vibrant and diverse urban life from day one.

At the center of the development is SDU’s new campus, envisioned as an open and active hub for knowledge, tech, and entrepreneurship, closely connected to the city, the harbor, and the surrounding landscape.

We would like to congratulate ADEPT, STED, and the Municipality of Vejle on the winning proposal and look forward to following the exciting work of developing Vejle’s former industrial harbor.

Have you been to the new Sluseholmen Metro Plaza? It is now in full swing!

The plaza forms the public space around Sluseholmen M4 Metro Station and creates a connection between the station, surrounding streets, and waterfront.

The project is designed with integrated planting, seating, paving, and pedestrian routes that support both everyday transit and local public life around the station.

Located at the entrance to the Sluseholmen district, the plaza creates a new meeting point and transition between infrastructure, city, and water.

The plaza is part of the wider development of Sluseholmen. The wider project also includes new residential areas, roads, bridges, and improved pedestrian and cycling routes throughout the area.

A milestone at Sluseholmen Metro Plaza!
The accessible stairs down to the waterfront at Sluseholmen Metro are now complete and open for use.

The Sluseholmen Metro Plaza is becoming an urban destination and vibrant meeting place, connecting metro traffic, city life, and direct access to the harbour edge in one continuous public space.

Designed to also allow access for people with reduced mobility, it is now easier for everyone to move between the station, plaza, and waterfront.

This is a step (literally) toward making Sluseholmen more connected, accessible, and alive.

KØBENHAVNS BOULEVARD ET STORT SKRIDT NÆRMERE!

I dag er en vigtig dag for fremtidens København! Københavns Borgerrepræsentation har afsat 3,4 mio. kr. til en foranalyse af Københavns Boulevard — Kragh Berglunds vision for en sammenhængende grøn boulevard, der strækker sig fra Bispeengbuen til Christianshavns Volde.

Hos Kragh Berglund er vi naturligvis både glade og stolte over, at vores vision nu får så tydelig politisk opbakning fra partierne på rådhuset. At projektet nu skal undersøges i dybden, giver mulighed for at udfolde potentialet i en mere nænsom, realistisk og klimabevidst transformation af boulevarden.

Det er et vigtigt første skridt mod at genetablere den historiske vejstrækning som et af byens smukkeste og mest storslåede sammenhængende byrum. En boulevard, der passer ind i byen fra dag ét, fordi den historisk og bytypologisk altid har hørt til — helt enkelt.

En særlig tak skal lyde til politikerne på Københavns Rådhus, som har bakket op om projektet hele vejen — på tværs af politiske skel. Det viser med al tydelighed, at de rigtige grønne visioner for byen kan samle bredt og skabe fælles retning for fremtidens København.

I dag skåler vi – og ser frem imod det videre arbejde med stor spænding!

We’re excited to share that we’ve been selected to participate in the competition for Nordkajen in Vejle.

This urban development project will create an entirely new district, home to SDU’s future campus, bringing together city life, student life, innovation, and the fjord landscape.

The transformation of Nordkajen from an industrial area into a vibrant neighborhood marks the largest waterfront redevelopment in Vejle in recent years, with development extending toward 2050.

Together with , we look forward to presenting our vision for a dynamic and lively district, closely connected to the fjord.

Bellahøj School is featured in the international exhibition “The City is Sports – Cities in Motion: European Projects and Examples” at the Deutsches Architekturmuseum (DAM) in Frankfurt.

The exhibition highlights European projects that rethink how cities integrate play and physical activity into everyday urban life. Bellahøj School has been selected as one of the examples demonstrating how architecture and landscape design can support active learning and community engagement.

At Bellahøj, the schoolyard was transformed into a whimsical, connected landscape for both movement and learning, shaped together with students and designed to encourage activity throughout the day.

We are proud to see the project contributing to a broader European dialogue on how design can foster healthier, playful cities.

The exhibit is open until 7 June 2026.
