NEW WORKS

NEW WORKS New Works presents a collection at the intersection between old and new. Light and dark. Design and art.

Our work pays homage to the strong Scandinavian history of craftsmanship and materiality, whilst challenging the contemporary forms of today. Through collaboration with International acknowledged designers, we add a spice to our scandinavian heritage, which we respect, but want to challenge. Our approach is heavily influenced by our experiments with natural materials and geometric forms, giving ou

r work a nice sculptural touch. We strive to build objects that are not just comfortable to sit in, but also interesting to look at.

In The Silent Room, materials and focused lighting create a heightened sense of contrast. The Dune Table by Panter&Tourron stands alone as a place for concentration and focus, while the subdued glow of the Tense Pendant Lamp, also designed by the duo, settles over the Coda Modular Sofa by John Astbury. Shaped by shadow and restraint, the room is stripped back in both palette and expression, carrying a quieter sense of tension.

Join us for the final day of 3daysofdesign and discover the new collection. We’re open until 18:00.

With the second day of 3daysofdesign now behind us, we’d like to extend our sincere thanks to everyone who has visited us so far, and a warm welcome to those planning to stop by tomorrow.

Sharing these days with our community, friends of the house, and fellow design enthusiasts is always the most rewarding part of the experience. We’re grateful for the conversations, the curiosity, and the time spent together, and look forward to seeing many of you again tomorrow.

The Champagne Bar marks the final room within the exhibition sequence,
where guests can savour a glass of champagne curated in collaboration with Champagne Taittinger. The rounded composition of the Shore Dining Curved modular sofa by Joel Fjällström anchors a setting defined by reflective surfaces, marble and deep-toned textiles, creating a room shaped by shadow and softened light. Immersive and slightly disorienting in atmosphere, the space invites visitors to drift into a state of escapism and release.

Marked by the monumental and historic character of the Marble Staircase, the exhibition opens with a dialogue between finished objects and the process itself. The Kizu Series by Lars Tornøe is presented alongside marble remnants from our own production. Displayed on pedestals normally associated with preservation and value, the discarded fragments are given the same visual weight as the finished objects. Side by side, completed pieces and leftover forms begin to dissolve into one another, shifting between sculpture, product and artefact.

We warmly welcome you to the second day of 3daysofdesign.

Throughout the Meditations in an Emergency exhibition, furniture, lighting, objects and materials are arranged to encourage slower observation and longer engagement. Rather than functioning as static displays, the interiors unfold as environments that sharpen attention and alter the way objects are perceived.

In the Middle Lounge, the Shore Modular Sofa by Joel Fjällström creates an immersive setting centred around listening, stillness and shared presence. Tactile materials and lowered seating encourage a slower rhythm of attention, where conversations soften, and distractions gradually begin to dissolve. Framed by deeper tones and concentrated sound, the room unfolds as a space for pause, immersion and collective experience.

Meditations in an Emergency is now open.

With 3daysofdesign finally underway, we warmly welcome you into this year’s installation, Meditations in an Emergency.

Presented over the next three days, the exhibition explores the tension between external noise and inner stillness, unfolding through a series of curated rooms designed to encourage focus, creativity, reflection, and invention. Amid the pace of the city, the Residence becomes a place to pause and momentarily retreat.

Come in, stay a while. Explore our novelties and upcoming designs, savour a glass in one of our bars, and enjoy the soundscape played throughout the exhibition.

We look forward to welcoming you.

Part of the array of novelties presented during this year’s 3daysofdesign exhibition, Meditations in an Emergency, the Nebra Table Lamp extends Lukas Bazle’s exploration of light in motion.

A gentle adjustment of its pleated shade transforms both illumination and silhouette, creating an atmosphere that changes with perspective, inviting attention to the space around it.

We are pleased to introduce Smultron, a new lighting series by Sjöberg Fjällström, the design duo of Moa Sjöberg and Joel Fjällström.

Named after the Swedish word for wild strawberry, Smultron draws inspiration from the familiar ritual of threading freshly picked berries onto a straw on a summer’s day. Translating this simple gesture into lighting, the series comprises two table lamps and a floor lamp, where soft, stacked spheres rest upon each other.

Following Joel Fjällström’s Shore series, Smultron marks the first contribution from the duo to the New Works collection.

Join us at 3daysofdesign, where Smultron will be unveiled in preview as the exhibition opens tomorrow.

As 3daysofdesign approaches, a familiar sense of anticipation settles over Copenhagen. Soon, we will open the doors to Meditations in an Emergency and welcome you into a week of dialogue, exploration, and shared experiences.

This marks our third 3daysofdesign at the Residence. Currently undergoing renovation, the building’s façade is veiled in scaffolding—a temporary layer that hints at what is unfolding beneath. The way in, however, remains the same. There will be signs to guide you, and to make your arrival a little easier, we’ve included a map to help you find your way.

We look forward to welcoming familiar faces and meeting new ones. See you all tomorrow.

The starting point for Coupe was an almost naïve sketch: one vertical line intersected by three horizontals. Inspired by the silhouettes of champagne coupes, designer John Astbury translated that first drawing into a series of stools shaped through proportion, silhouette, and material weight.
