🔬 Every TARKEN undergoes quality control
Before TARKEN WM reaches the customer, each device undergoes semi-automatic testing after assembly.

The test fixture checks, among other things:
✔ sensor operation
✔ axis movement accuracy and parameters
✔ device key functions

The test result is displayed to the operator immediately, and each device receives confirmation that it meets our quality requirements before packaging.

Since we produce TARKEN in small batches, such quality control allows us to check each individual device separately. This way, we can be sure that the customer receives a product with all the most important functions checked before leaving the factory.
This video shows part of our production process and semi-automatic quality control.

Where could the TARKEN smart window link be useful?
In addition to the home, TARKEN is also well suited for many other places where fresh air and convenient automatic ventilation are important. The solution helps where people cannot or do not want to constantly open and close windows manually.

🏨 Hotels
Hotel rooms need quick and quiet ventilation. TARKEN can freshen the room before a new guest arrives and reacts to changes in the indoor climate without anyone having to run to open the windows.

🛏️ Guest apartments and Airbnb
Airbnb and other short-term rental apartments are often managed remotely by the owner. The smart window link allows you to control the windows even when the owner is not in town. When a guest leaves and the apartment remains empty, the room can be automatically ventilated and the air quality can be maintained.

🏢 Offices
In the office, the CO2 level directly affects concentration and well-being. TARKEN helps keep the indoor air stable throughout the working day. This means less stuffy meeting rooms and less manual opening of windows.

🎓 Schools and kindergartens
In classrooms, CO2 levels rise quickly. Automatic ventilation keeps the air fresher and teachers do not have to constantly monitor when to open the window.

🏥 Hospitals and healthcare facilities
Indoor climate is important for both patients and staff. Smart window control helps support ventilation and keep rooms as comfortable as possible.

❤️ Nursing homes
Many residents cannot open their windows themselves. Automation ensures that rooms receive fresh air without staff having to go to each room individually.

🏘️ Rental apartments
The landlord can offer a more modern living environment without having to rebuild windows. The solution is suitable for both new and older apartments.

🌱 Passive and energy-efficient houses
In such houses, the indoor climate and energy use are carefully thought out. TARKEN is well suited for systems where precise and stable air exchange is important.

🏡 Cottages and country homes
When you arrive, the rooms are already fresh. The windows can also be controlled remotely, which is convenient especially if the cottage is located further from the city.

💙 When technology gives back a bit of independence
When creating Tarken, we have talked a lot about smart homes, air quality and automation. But sometimes users themselves remind us that the greatest value of technology lies not in convenience, but in the ability to do something that many people take for granted.

One such user is Dave.
In 2022, a tragic accident completely changed Dave's life. As a result of a neck injury, he was paralyzed, and many everyday activities that most of us do without thinking began to require outside help.

In his recent post, Dave wrote: "Big thanks also to Tarken, thanks to which it is possible to independently control the climate in the room. Extremely convenient installation, even more convenient use and excellent service. A convenient and extremely necessary assistant!"

Such words mean a lot to us.

Tarken is not created just for convenience. The ability to open or close a window from your phone, monitor CO₂ levels, temperature and humidity, and automate ventilation may simply mean a smarter home for some people. For another person, it could mean the opportunity to do something completely independently.
It is in moments like these that we feel that all these years of development, testing and problem-solving have been worth it.

Dave's story is also a reminder of how great strength lies in consistency. Despite a serious injury, he continues to train, recover and look for new opportunities every day.
We wish Dave strength, patience and many new victories on his journey to recovery. 💙

If you want to keep up with his work or support him, you can find more information on Dave's page https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100086135114645

🌍 Why is Matter certification important at all? When you get more involved in the world of smart home, one problem quickly arises: devices from different manufacturers do not want to cooperate well with each other.

One works only with its own app.
Another needs a separate gateway.
The third depends on a cloud service.
The fourth is not compatible with other systems at all.

For a long time, the world of smart home was quite fragmented.
Matter was created to solve this problem.

⚙️ Matter is a smart home standard that aims to improve the compatibility of devices from different manufacturers.
In practice, this means that the same device can work:
- in Apple Home
- in Google Home
- in Samsung SmartThings
- in Home Assistant
- and in other systems that support Matter
Without each manufacturer building its own closed ecosystem.

🏠 Why is local control important?
Many smart home devices depend on the internet and the manufacturer's servers.
If the cloud service is interrupted or the internet is lost:
- automation does not work
- control slows down
- some functions may disappear completely

Matter + Thread are moving in the other direction.
In the case of TARKEN, this means:
- devices communicate locally
- reactions are faster
- the system works even when the internet is down
- less dependence on the manufacturer's cloud

🔋 Why Matter over Thread?
Thread is a low-power mesh network designed specifically for smart home devices.
It allows for:
- lower power consumption
- longer battery life
- more stable network
- cooperation between devices without the classic Wi-Fi load
This is especially important for battery-powered devices.

🧪 Why did certification take almost 9 months?
Matter certification does not mean just “one check mark”.
This meant:
- reworking the software
- testing the protocols
- checking compatibility with different ecosystems
- repeated validations
- laboratory tests
- Every detail had to meet the requirements of the Connectivity Standards Alliance.

For TARKEN, the goal was not to simply make another app or a closed system.
The goal was to create a device that would fit into a modern smart home even years from now.

🔋 Battery powered, low power consumption and less charging
One of the biggest technical challenges in the development of TARKEN was optimizing energy use. The goal was clear: the device must work for as long as possible without the user having to constantly think about charging.

The result is good today:
- in standby mode, TARKEN can measure the indoor climate and work for over a year
- on a single charge, the device can make almost 1,500 window movements in a row
- low power consumption has been achieved thanks to optimized electronics, software and the Matter over Thread solution

This means that in normal use, the device does not require frequent maintenance or charging.

☀️ In addition, we have added the option to use a small solar panel.
The solar panel:
- comes with the product
- sticks to the window
- supports continuous battery backup

With sufficient natural daylight, the need for charging may disappear completely.
In practice, this means that TARKEN can work for a very long time without manual charging or, under suitable conditions, independently, depending on the location of use.

This is an important step in smart home devices: less maintenance, lower energy consumption and greater reliability.

A good smart home solution is not just about automation.
It also means efficient energy use.
