☑️ Wrapping Up Cairo Sustainable Energy Week (CSEW) 2024

🌍 CSEW 2024 in Cairo has come to a successful close. Over the past three days, the event brought together policymakers, energy experts, and industry professionals to discuss advancements in sustainable energy solutions.

💡 Cool Up’s session on “Advancing Sustainable Cooling through National Cooling Action Plans (NCAPs)” at CSEW focused on the role of NCAPs in promoting climate-friendly cooling. The panel explored approaches to aligning NCAPs with national policies and climate objectives.

The Integrated Development Group - IDG's team presented the NCAP development in Egypt in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment. They also participated in the booths of the Egyptian Ministry of Environment and RCREEE to engage with attendees and discuss sustainable cooling and natural refrigerants in the region.

📅 Cool Up programme will host a session during CSW on 3 October 2024 from 10:30 - 11:30 AM about “Advancing Sustainable Cooling through National Cooling Action Plans (NCAPs)”.

This panel discussion will explore efforts aimed at catalyzing policy transformation toward climate-friendly cooling by developing comprehensive National Cooling Action Plans (NCAPs). We’ll discuss the importance of building national capacity, aligning NCAPs with national policies, and linking them to Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) and Kigali Implementation Plans.

Dr. Asmaa Ramadan our technical expert will be speaking on the development of the NCAP in Egypt in cooperation with Ministry of Environment.

🌍 Honored to Celebrate National Ozone Day! 🌍

The Integrated Development Group (IDG) had the honor to attend the National Ozone Day celebration!!

This year’s event, held under the patronage of Dr. Yasmin Fouad - Minister of Environment - and themed "Montreal Protocol: Enhancing Climate Action". The celebration, organized by the Ozone Unit of the Egyptian Environmental Affairs Agency, was a testament to the collaborative spirit driving global climate action.

As part of the National Ozone Day celebration, the National Committee for Sustainable Cooling held its first official meeting after the kick off in May 2024. The Integrated Development Group (IDG) team as part of this committee presented the general outlines for the first draft of the National Cooling Strategy. This crucial initiative is being developed in coordination with the Environmental Affairs Agency and the Ozone Unit.

IDG as the National Director and implementer of the Cool Up project in Egypt, also outlined the National Cooling Action Plan. Cool Up project serves as the technical secretariat for the steering committee established by the esteemed Minister of Environment to develop the NCAP, aligning with the country’s efforts to achieve sustainable development goals.

Integrated Development Group - IDG _ the Cool Up`s country partner in Egypt _ in cooperation with the Ministries of Environment and Technical Education of Egypt, conducted three technician trainings on sustainable cooling in the Giza Training Center in Egypt.

Cool Up’s training was carried out for a total of 45 refrigeration and air conditioning technicians from various organizations including Power, Daikin, Nestle, Gulf Nassiri, Quality, Engineering Company, and El-Mohandes.
