Lot of systems has been developed to solve traffic problems but most used system is based on "GPS" satellites which requires line of sight connection and has lot of restrictions in Egypt and also above all, those systems fail to identify vehicles so we began to look for another technology affordable, green & reliable
Using Radio Frequency Identification "RFID" to tag vehicles with an ID contain
all its information, reading this tag via readers placed on road side at planned distances calculating vehicle speed and send ID data and speed to our server via GPRS connection , then our server will make predefined calculations to construct table with traffic average speed. Having a website contain an interactive traffic map with "Google Maps API" to request the traffic average speed every predefined periods and update traffic status via colors related to speeds. Using the data on the server and the website to develop mobile application "android platform" plus making an intelligent traffic routing system to reach any place on the map, moreover we want to use this data to control traffic automatically via adaptive traffic light signals. Having database records contain all vehicles IDs & history allowing the competent bodies to track any suspicious vehicle that might be stolen or used in any criminal way. Knowing vehicle location allows using some location based services like marketing to some services, places, malls, markets, emergency services "nearby ambulances, gas stations, etc."
