World Interiors Day✨
I chose this profession because it transforms spaces, yes. But mostly because it brings happiness to the people who live in them.
Today, May 31st, is Interior Designer Day and I felt like pausing for a moment to reflect on why I’m still just as in love with this work after 17 years.
It didn’t start by chance. It started walking through building sites, standing in empty rooms and feeling that there was something to say in them. That every space had a story waiting to be told.
That same feeling still hits me today when I walk into an empty apartment in the Eixample, a hotel mid-construction, or a restaurant that still smells of fresh plaster. I see what it can become. And that is an extraordinary privilege.
This profession has taught me to listen before proposing. To understand that designing is, above all, an act of trust. Clients hand me their home, their business, the space where the moments that matter will happen. That’s not something I take lightly, ever.
To every interior designer celebrating the same thing today: thank you for continuing to believe that spaces matter. That the detail matters. That functional beauty isn’t a luxury, it’s a necessity.
